I had a great start but can't cope with monty at the moment and got Zara and the Khan involved with little effect. Can anyone tell me where i have gone wrong and i can turn this around. All comments are welcome

I have attached the initial save and current save.

NOTE: Sorry i do have the Varietas Delectat 7.5 mod loaded(Really good mod btw, Here is the link if interested).

I can't open your save. Seems like it needs a mod or something.

Thanks for trying lol.

It's hard to say much from screenshots, but it doesn't look like you have chopped enough trees. Also, when your next to Monty and on top of that choose to adopt a different religion you HAVE to be very well prepared. You should also explore the map more.

Judging by the screen shots it looks like you have a pretty good tech pace (PP at 920ad) and 214 beakers per turn at 60%, but unless you are saving the cash for a mass upgrage, I'd boost the tech rate to 100% and deficit research for as long as possible. I'd beeline Redcoats and then Nationalism and immediately start drafting while building Redcoats as well.

You can probably get a Redcoat stack out before your opponents get muskets or at least large numbers of muskets.

Why do you have the field of view slider so high? What difficulty are you playing under? What's the tech situation? It's difficult to understand exactly what your problem is and what your plan is/was. You might be better off dogpiling Monty and knocking him out. But, you need to know what you're up against and know where his SoD is. He's not going to give you OB, so you'll need to send some spies in his territory. I would be focusing all my EP on him. Are all of Monty's cities to the East of you?

Cheers for the input.

WRT my tech rate it would be loads better had i not been at war with Monty on and off for the past 500ish years.

I was planning to upgrade my suffering defence as monty attacks me all the time lol, but i am trying to get ahead in tech so i can batter him with better units but he has a massive army waiting to invade & i sure it'll be soon.

A redcoat stack should sort him out thou.

Why do you have the field of view slider so high? -To show the whole empire
difficulty are you playing under? - Monarch
What's the tech situation?- I appear to be dropping behind because of the constant war with monty but i am good friends with everybody else

My problem is that i don't have a plan and montys SOD is on my border and growing faster than i can seemly keep up. I think that all his cities are left of me yes. I think i should try to take him out too but I'm already falling behind in tech and this cold war has been going on too long.

I'm new to this so i'm sorry if i'm not giving the right info here :)

If no one else has Liberlism yet, you can Bulb most of Education and start working on Liberalism.

I don't know what trading options you have, but you can try to research replaceable parts prior to finishing Liberalism and then use Liberalism to get Rifling. But you'll definitely have to trade things off to fill out Guilds and Banking. You don't want to trade Eduaction though, until you are certain you'll win the Liberalism race.
It really depends on how long you can delay Monty from attacking. You can go Gundpowder and Liberalism -> Nationalism which would at least give you the ability to draft Muskets.

If you get Engineering a couple of pikes should eat those Horseman up, even spears should do well. Actually, Maceman will do well too, since it doesn't look they have anything more powerful then a 6 strength.
