Can you play a scenario map in a regular game?

I've just recently picked up the GOTY edition of Civ V and am having a blast with it.
I quite enjoy the Civilization & Scenario Pack: Polynesia due to the fact it has New Zealand in it.
My question is, is there a way to play that map, but in a custom game?

Press ESC in your Scenario game. Then select SAVE game.
In the next dialog you will see button 'save map' at bottom & left side.
You can use the map in your regular games. But all Civilizations will have random start location.
