[Pir] can you recommend a game?

My husband's favorite part of the Sid Meier's Pirates game is the land battles. Can you recommend another game that is similar to that aspect of the Pirates game? His birthday is coming up.

Almost no games that use this kind of battle model. I'm working on something like it for an Android app, but you'll be hard-pressed to find anything similar.

Battle for Ravenmark (IOS) might be interesting, though. I suspect it is the closest equivalent among recent games.

The closest game I can think of, is the battle mode in "Conquest of the New World". Old game, but is available through GOG.
