2. Get the game to carry on telling you when a city has grown past 6 pop so I can go and micro?

2. Yes. Custom Notification mod.
Search for "Custom Notifications" in the mod browser. It's the one by Sneaks and alpaca.

I hate that we don't have option 1.

It was such an easy and obvious upgrade in IV from previous games and you can't make any argument for not including it (no balance or design challenges, just adapt the code from IV for V and give it to me), so it drives me bonkers that it isn't still there.

if you were truely OCD you would be checking each city each turn regardless of if it has grown or not ... ok maybe that is just me ...

I think it is the fact that there has to be multiple ways of doing the same thing that makes it obsessive.

I would also like to have the ability to put signs on the map. Seems like it should be simple to do, and is very handy when planning out city placement.
