Cant access gif files.

    Whenever I try to access any of my gif files I get the message 'cannot find file...(say) cities gif (or one of its components); with the bitmap files I've downloaded off the civ 2 site there's no problem. I'm wondering if something's corrupted some of my files, although the game plays okay.:confused:

    What program are you using to open those files? In what directory is Civ2 installed? And in what directory were those download files?

    It sounds to me like it might be a long filename problem. That is, there are spaces in the folder path somewhere, which is keeping the files from opening properly.
