OK, let me see if I can describe the situation. Me and my bro both have Civ2. We're both using cable Internet. He's running Win98SE and using a LinkSys 4-port Router. I'm running Win2K and using a D-Link wireless router.

I tried hosting a game, but I told him to connect to my ISP-assigned IP address and he cannot connect. I tried everything, from forwarding port 4993 to putting my PC in the DMZ (which should let EVERYTHING through). I tried putting in my local IP address and my ISP/WAN IP address when Civ2 asked me to verify it for hosting. No success.

Does his router need to have port 4993 open as well, even if he's not hosting? Am I missing something else?

Thanks

No clue.

We got it working...for some reason, it doesn't work when I host it...HE has to host it. And we just put both our computers into DMZ mode. Not exactly the cleanest way to do it, but it works. :crazyeye:
