Can't install BE via CDRom

Been playing CIV 3, 4 & 5 for years plus expansions (all downloaded via Steam) and bought the CDRom of Beyond Earth.

Trying to install the game, entered product code provided, get a message saying "Please first activate the original game"? There's no way around this, it's not an option. The original game is already running on Steam...

How do I get past this to play the game? Please help!

Shot in the dark - your box might contain two pieces of paper with different codes, one for the game and one for the exoplanets map pack. Sometimes the game code is hidden in the back of a manual or some such while DLC codes are on separate slips.

I have exactly the same problem. No help anywhere that I can find... What a waste!

There are 2 codes one is to activate game and other is for map expansions ...
