Can't Install Patch

I downloaded the new patch but whenever I try to run it, it says that Civ4 is not installed but in fact it is. I can play the game and everything, but for some unknown reason it says the game isn't installed. Anyone know what a possible fix for this could be?

Sorry I'm talking about the 1.52 patch. I haven't played civ4 in a couple months so I never downloaded the patch until now.

I get the same message when attempting to install the 1.52 patch. Mine is the Direct2Drive v1.09 install.

God, I wish I would have seen this forum before buying such sketchy software.

you should check out if you have installed some MODs and Version of Directx.
also you can update it directly from the game.

Yeah I can download it from inside the game but to actually install the patch it exits civ4 and runs the patch file. Each time this happens it says I don't have civ4 installed.

If you have the D2D version, you need to dl the patch here: http://www.direct2drive.com/patches/index.aspx. The "standard" patch will not recognize the version you have installed.

EDIT: Check your version number ingame also. I just remembered that I got the same error when I installed it (I have the DVD version). However when I checked "about this build" in the advanced menu, it said v152. Have no idea why it gave me that message, but it aparently still installed.

I have the regular retail version of the game. I loaded the game and checked the version number and it says 1.09.
