Long time civ player, first time poster. So ive never bothered updating my bts before, but a friend of mine thought i should try a mod, and 3.17 was needed for it. So i try to patch but when i enter civ i see its still the old version. So then i see that for some reason some files have been added in different c: folders(like C:\Assets , C:\Warlords) etc. I really have no idea how to fix this but please halp :3

Download the patch online. If you try to do it through the game you'll never get it.

Oh i forgot to mention something, when i started the patch it said that i already had 3.17. And i really dont.

What version of Civ IV did you install?
Some versions have been patched to 3.17 already.

Thank you :) The BtS Build Version: 3.0.3.1 (77541) , just checked. Not sure what version of the original i have, does it matter?

Sounds like you have the same problem I did.

When I installed BtS it created a new directory for the expansion (Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Beyond the Sword) under the Firaxis folder. Problem comes in because everything still runs from the original game folder under Firaxis/Sid Mier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword. When you install patches or mods, it will put them in the new BtS folder but the game is searching for files under Sid Meier's Civilization 4.

I fixed it by copying and pasting everything from Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Beyond the Sword (which is actually patched with 3.17 and why you're game is saying it is patched) into the unpatched Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword folder.

Had the same problem when I installed FfH2, just moved the mod from the new BtS folder to the BtS folder in the old directory.

Im not sure i understand you correctly skytha but i dont have a firaxis directory D:. I will try to find my discs to reinstall and see if i can ge this mess to work

Yeah, most people didn't when I tried to explain.... I included a picture of my directories. Files need to go in the selected folder, but they go in the "Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Beyond the Sword" folder below it instead. In doing my own reading on the problem I think people may have different root directories depending on their game. Civ Complete owners seem to have 2k instead of Firaxis?? Not sure.
