Can't View Unit Icons/Characters

Currently, when I play Civ6 I can not view any of the unit characters/icons. All I see is a flag or a shield with a symbol (i.e. shield with archer symbol, shield with horse symbol). Is this a bug or a setting? I validated the game in Steam, and have a Nvidia 980M graphics card using Windows 10 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated. Version 1.0.0.26
