I'm currently in a war with Justinian... I have a capitulated vassal Hannibal. He has a capitulated vassal (Aztecs) and voluntary (as well as I can remember) vassal Pascal...

Currently I am fighting a slash/burn scorch earth war versus Justinian, razing cities roughly every two turns... (This is noble difficulty, and Justinian is one of my chief rivals but for some reason still has riflemen even though he has tech for infantry... aka my tanks (now modern armor) are rolling him).

My question is: if I get Justinian to capitulate (my current goal) what happens to his vassals. And if he has vassals, will he never capitulate?

Not sure if anyone has come across this often, but I have often wondered and am now in that position...

When he Capitulates, his Vassals become free nations again, although still at war with you. These former Vassals will likely be MORE than willing to make peace with you, after you wreck their boss...

If he has installed the unofficial patch, else a peace treaty will be signed with all of Justinian's Vassals.

I have the official patch...

If I get the unofficial patch mid-game... how will that change gameplay?

(After all, quite lame the vassals get a "free" peace treaty with you)

If you knock him down enough, his vassals might break away before. I think once a capitulated civ reaches greater than 1/2 the master's score (or somewhere there abouts) they will declare independence again. I have seen this happen many times when knocking down the big AI on the block.

(Really, just download the Bh patch and forget what happened before lol)

If you were to capitulate Justinian, then his vassals would become independent states which you would have to end the wars separately.

As I said four (4) posts ago. Great Work! :goodjob:

The changes are listed in the op of the stickied thread at the top of the forum, such as The Vassal of a Capitulating Civ is freed before peace treaty, which is what I was referring to and used to be very annoying.

You can install the patch and continue with your game, if you don't like the changes simply remove the patch (and you can still continue with your game). I predict that you will like the changes though.

See above.
