Capto Iugulum: Empires and Nations

To: United States of America
From: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

In light of the recent military coup that has replaced the legitimate government of the United States of America with a pale imitation, we hereby declare the Treaty of Halifax to be null and void. We signed that treaty with the people of the United States and their democratically elected government, not a cadre of traitorous barbarians.

This is the 24 hour warning to get those orders in.

We congratulate the British people for producing such a sane minded government.

The Mamluk Caliphate hereby recognizes the independence of the Turkish Sultanate. As such we encourage the other nations of the world to recognize Turkish indepedence as well. May peace and prosperity reign between both our countries.

As you have said, you signed that treaty with the people of the United States. Thus, by breaking that treaty due to changing politics in the United States (and do note that the Scott government had the support of civilian militias, an element of civil American society, without which the Scott government would not exist), you betray the American people, seeing as it is merely a defensive treaty in the event that a foreign power seeks to harm the United States or British holdings in the Americas. And your uncouth remark about the government of the United States certainly will not be overlooked. We are disappointed about your decision and will be certain to remember it in any future dealings with your government.

We signed that treaty with the United States' representative government, not a roving band of marauders that strolled into D.C. and crowned themselves king. We will not play this game with you.

We ask you all that you do not act rashly and/or harshly against the Scott government in the United States. We are sure that the current situation in the United States is only temporary, and soon they will give way to a government similar in making to the previous one.

Well that will be doable, but I cannot accept any order revisions beyond this point.

No more orders will be accepted beyond this point. We've got a bigger than normal update coming, which for this NES, says quite a lot. It's late now, so I'll be retiring to bed, and starting up again on the update in the morning. The outline is all done, and it's just a matter of writing it all out. Quite a few interesting developments, and some new nations are available which may catch some interest.
