Capto Iugulum: Empires and Nations

To: Scandinavia
From: Poland

Believe it or not, "volunteer regiments" were not our intention. They were SUPPOSED to be guards for the money and return after it was delivered.

Concessions were already agreed upon earlier, were they not?

That you would partake of such blatant international usury is less than reassuring, however, we will not let it mark these negotiations more than necessary. You asserted that any concessions towards other nations in the region (ourselves, the Dutch) would have to come through an agreement with the Burmese. Understandably, we are less than excited about playing tit for tat with a nation that is involved only indirectly with this dispute.

If you are willing to guarantee concessions based on the provisions discussed previously, we will consider this incident concluded until further notice.

To Savoy-Milan
From Paris and Burgundy

We are extremely glad to hear of your withdrawal.

From: Empire of Scandinavia
To: Whomever It May Concern
CC: Paris-Burgundy

Henceforth the commitment to economic tariff and tax detente, cooperation internally and externally between the Empire of Scandinavia and the Kingdoms of Paris-Burgundy is reaffirmed. Both nations agree to submit to the trade agreements currently maintained under the predication of the Northern League's trade accords, and agree to continue to maintain them into the future. Both parties will raise and lower tariffs and taxes as the agreements, and economic circumstance, demand, in cooperation with each other.

Signed, Their Majesties Emperor Harold I and Empress Christine II, King and Queen of Norway and Sweden respectively

To: Kingdom of Savoy-Milan
From: Austria

We cannot agree to a nonaggression pact unless Tuscany and the Papacy are included within its boundaries.

The only Polish loan to date has been the one to Austria.

And Burma is indirectly involved? Oh, so if they had invaded Siam on their own everything would've been completely fine? It's only hurting your economic interests if eastern Europeans are involved? Well that sure is reassuring. What a GREAT ally you're turning out to be. So tolerant and caring. And selfless. Oh, and let's not forget how it would be perfectly fine if Siam was completely annexed by Burma, even if they were unwilling to do business with you!

And how many times does it have to be said? YES we will divide Siam up. STOP ASKING.

ooc: It wasn't my idea to tell the whole world that Poland was giving Kiev money.

I don't even care anymore. I really don't.

To Savoy-Milan, Austria, Switzerland, &c.
From Paris-Burgundy

We should also like to be included in this non-aggression pact. Is this acceptable? We would also like to make the suggestion that Switzerland might like to partake of this agreement to make it more comprehensive and secure.

We can agree, as long as the Papacy is in compliance.

To: Paris-Burgundy
From: Savoy-Milan

We are willing to sign a non-aggression pact, and will include Switzerland if they desire. However, we hope you understand that our defensive alliance with the Dutch mean that our non-aggression pact would be invalid should you go to war with them.

That is, indeed, obvious, that if we declared war on the Netherlands you should be obliged to help them. Of course, if the Netherlands declared war on us, you would be obliged not to help them, or this pact would be meaningless.

From: Hungary
To: Savoy-Milan

We echo the calls of Austria. Before we can agree to such a pact, we require Tuscany and Naples be included as well. In addition, all Italian states have the right to deal with the Brothers of Italy as they see fit. Savoy-Milan cannot interfere in the domestic policy of these nations.

To: Hungary
From: Savoy-Milan

We note that we have already agreed to a NAP with Tuscany, and that the ceasefire with Naples from the end of the Third Venetian War is still in affect.

From: Japan
To: The Ascendancy

What is your business telling us where we may be and who we may wage war against? You have waged nothing but brutal war against your own people.

From: Hungary
To: Savoy-Milan

Then renew the NAP with Naples. If there is the possibility of there being a point in which Hungary is in an NAP with Savoy and Naples is not, we will not accept. Also, Savoy-Milan must publicly state that it will not support the Brothers of Italy in foreign nations. If Savoy does not, the treaty is worthless for any nations with the Brothers of Italy operating within their borders.

You have allowed the vile Europeans to corrupt you. They wish to rob the East of its wealth, heritage, and culture and we will not stand for it. Withdraw from Korea or face the might of our army. This is your final warning.

Regardless of what the front page says, this is the 48 hour warning to get those orders in.

We request that we may send military observers to Switzerland in order to share military tactics for fighting in the most hostile environments, foster relations between our countries, and adopt your military organisation and learn your tactical doctrine in ~1850. Is this acceptable?

We hope the occasion where it is necessary for the Netherlands to declare war on you will not be arising any time soon. However, should this happen, we would of course not be assisting them militarily, per the NAP.

To: Hungary
From: Savoy-Milan

We wonder, does Hungary wish for a non-aggression pact or not? It is not possible for us to be in a NAP with a nation that we are currently at war with.

From The Ascendant's Kingdom of Holy China
To Japan

We take your silence to mean your forces are not withdrawing. Hence we declare war upon the Japanese in defence of Korea. You shall pay for your arrogance.

From: Hungary
To: Savoy-Milan

Hungary only wants an NAP as long as her allies, specifically those on the Italian Peninsula, are not left out to dry.

From the Empire of Japan
To the Ascendancy

You give us no choice. We cannot throw our soldier's lives away as easily as you can throw away the lives of your subjects. We will withdraw from Korea.

From the Empire of Japan
To Asia and The World

How swiftly General Kong has moved! First he moved against his master the Emperor, then against the people of China who would better themselves. Now, he see's fit to manage the affairs of his neighbors, to declare war on those who have seen fit to leave China to the Chinese. How long before this usurper, this Mongolian Warlord casts his eyes to the south, to the west? How long before he moves to ensures all of Asia remains as he believes it should be: backwards and subject to his whims?
