So am I right in understanding you don't get culture points from wonders you capture?

You are right about getting the wonder abilities until they are rendered obsolete. However, I'm not sure about getting the tourism bonus from conquered wonders. Could someone verify? (I'll find out soon enough, as I'm in the middle of an epic game. As soon as I find out, I'll post an update.)

The tourism bonus is added to the Wonder after the appropriate years have gone by, regardless of who owns it. So yes, you do receive that bonus when you capture a city with old wonders.

Dropping a FP (when it's worthwhile) in a recently captured city that already has tourism-producing Wonders is a nice way to garner a commerce boost.
