Capturing Cities with Shadows

Downloaded ff2 about a month ago, and according to the readme I have 0.40 version. If this has been fixed or addressed elsewhere tell me (I'm new to the forums).

So here it goes:

Acheron (the Dragon) is sitting in a barbarian city and with him there is a worker and some other defenders. I capture the worker with my shadow (he enters the city), and as he does that Acheron and all the other defenders get pushed out of the city to an adjacent square. Now only my shadow remains in the city (the worker has vanished).

Aside from this incident I have seen other defenders get pushed out of the cities by shadows, in different circumstances.

Is this a new strategy how to deal with city defenders?

I believe that the problem of Shadows pushing defenders out of cities has been fixed. The latest version of the mod is currently 0.41a. If I'm right, upgrading will eliminate that problem, but of course you won't be able to continue your game - since 0.41 won't work with 0.40 saves.
