It's spring of 1996. Dietrich invited his friends over to play the newest board game on his shelf. His German uncle Adolf sent it to him and it's really cool. You roll dice build roads and villages and score resources. It's easy to forget about your Mega Drive and Sid Meier's Colonization installed on your IBM.
Among humble board game enthusiasts, three video gamers are of different opinion. They have a single goal. They would like to ruin the game and return to their personal computers. They're working together to make it an unpleasant experience. You can recognize them if you pay attention. They always giggle, when someone manages to roll 7.

///

Setup:
In this game Video Gamers are trying to outnumber Board Game Enthusiasts and end the sessions of Catan. To prevent this from happening, they need to be recognized and stopped.
The game offers some experimental mechanics. You don't have your vote by default. You get a certain amount of resources based on your role card every phase/cycle. These will enable you to pay for an action.
Vanilla towns get exactly resources to pay for a vote (1 wood, 1 brick), but they might decide to use them differently. Negotiation and trading of resources among players is an important part of this setup.
There will be a public list of actions and their costs renewed every day.

Mechanics
- Plurality lynching only, because of possible hoarding of resources. If you want to no lynch, you need to vote for it.
-Video Gamers win, when they achieve parity
-Board Game Enthusiasts need to eliminate all Video Gamers in order to win
-Private communications outside of mafia chat are not allowed
- Video Gamers get a private chat they can access 24/7
- Dice will solve ties. If I manage to roll 7, both tied parties die
- Do not edit your posts
- Use Vote: Player to vote and Unvote or Cancel to cancel your vote
- You can trade by offering your resources up to trade: Offer: resource X for resource Y. Offer will be assigned a number. Other players can accept offer: Offer: Accept offer #Number of Offer
-Post at least once every phase or you'll get replaced
-Most other standard mafia rules apply.

Basic Info:
-Days are 48 hours long, nights 24. The thread is opened at night.
-The game starts on Friday May 15th
-SOD/EOD at 9 PM GMT
-The minimal number of players is 9.

*rolls dice* vote: Synsensa

11 pm GMT? That's midnight BST and 1 am CEST, right?

The mechanics certainly seem interesting.

Here's the first question. Since votes are resource-based, can people save up votes and spend multiple during a day cycle? Like if I have 3 wood and 3 brick, can I vote three times?

Not a major objection, but I don't like the possibility of a double lynch existing. Just feels like something that people will try to exploit.

I for one will be attempting to recreate supertie if it remains lol

A few things more

1. I personally would prefer night chat to be enabled
2. I'm gonna invite a few people

Pzelda, you know my schedule. Work around it and I am in, else I must decline.

But I very much wanna be in.

I will trade 4 rock for three baa
Also I am in

You should be able to do that. It might end up being game breaking, but I like it as an idea. Also, this will require me to use tabs.

It's not really exploitable as there's a random chance of that happening, only if there's tie. But maybe it's too much of flavour gimmick.

1. Sure I can work with it. I just think I should make roles wee more scumsided as they don't get downtime.
2. Go ahead!

Your game starts way later.

Imagine entering F3 as town with like 10 votes and making the wrong decision lol

I promise I'll build a utopia if you all give me your resources every turn.

The ‘u’ in utopia is actually a negatory prefix, i.e. the entire name means the no-place/no-where, ergo you'll just be shafting us.

Unless of course Csargo intends a eutopia instead. :)
