catastrophic failure ( help )

Just got a new computer, and new civ 4 ( been playing years ). Downloaded it once and it worked great for a few days.Then i accidentally erased it, and when i tried to install it again , a window pops up saying "CATASTROPHIC FAILURE" . Only when the 2nd disk is put in. IM not to computer literate, so if someone can help and put it in simple terms , that would be awesome....THX....

try copying all contents of the cd/dvd to your hard drive and run the installer from there...
