@Leyrann since I’m not on discord yet (will be soon I guess since it seems most of the devs talk there, but procrastinatoc as f*), do you know anything about this new experiment army something that’s part of the latest SVN?
It would’ve been great if you do and could share some brief info on what it is, I’m so curious.

Really like the gist of the changes this new generation of modders have brought so far (although I guess a lot of it will need balancing ofc)

I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to, also because I haven't actually played the mod myself in a few months (it comes and goes...). I do think Calvitix's recent changes included adjustments and fixes to AI army usage though. I think the point was to improve the AI's decisionmaking on which units to build, and how to use them in war.

Yeah, most of Calvitix's discussions with other modders about what he was working on went over my head, I'm afraid I can't help you there.

I cannot recommend using SVN 11654 Unless someone can tell me How to Stop the Automatic promotions! U No Longer can choose what U want for a unit of any kind. It is all Auto. and If U have units in a city DO NOT place them on Fortify.! They get designated Armed Guard and are Defend Only unit can NOT Attack anything!

I have NOT yet found a way to stop this wild auto promote thing! Just ruined a good New game.

Please make the AUTO Promote a set up or BUG Choice Option.
It is broken from what I'm seeing. Or overly restrictive, IDK which.

Is there any Documentation that explains it?

I believe auto promote should be a base game option, so it should be in the base game settings.

Nope not there Nor in BUG either. I started a new Game and searched the Game Set up Options thoroughly. As well as BUG. So I'm avoiding using the Fortify button at all.
Original game I did Not notice this problem all thru Preh Era and not until halfway thru Ancient Era. When Neighboring AI units and left over barbs and neanderthal units were still roaming around. That game in the last 1/3 of Ancient Era reall magnified the Problem with tis auoto promote system.
I will ALWAYS Prefer to have Choices. This is a Game About Choices and I would like to see it stay that way.

EDIT: I looked in the Wrong Place I found the Unit Auto Promote in MAIN OPTIONS was checked. Unchecked restarted save all ack to Normal. Have No idea how that Box got checked.

YUP! somehow the Unit Auto Promote box was checked, Unchecked restarted Save and promotions are back to Normal. Thank you.

Hello, i may be mistaken in my understanding or maybe not, but it looks like the c2c modpacks page still references the old v43 version and not the newer v44 one: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/caveman2cosmos.15324/

v44 doesn't seem to be listed as a standalone mod itself here either: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/categories/civ4-modpacks.2/

Updating available version link or/and page or such to latest may help increase its visibility or/and provide latest version for those who don't go through moddb or wherever latest is.

I personally use your mod to regularly fetch assets for my own mod AdvCiv-SAS (Simple Advanced Strategy) if i may do some publicity at the same time xd i mean (https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/advciv-sas-simple-advanced-strategy.32513/) which aims to make the AI much smarter and the game harder and more balanced this way, as well as improve UI or/and such.

StrategyOnly is the only 1 I know of that can change that. He is not in good health atm as far as I know.
Send him a DM thru this site and see if he will respond to u.

I see thanks, i just wanted to relay the info, i myself do not play c2c (i use it for my mod to grab assets or such thanks) to go too deep into it i mean, but i hope the info helped and that whoever is responsible or willing to handle this can use it, so on my end i'd rather let people handle it as they see fit thanks and not dig further (even though i hope it helped though i mean thanks).
