The Cock-up

So I uh...dropped the ball this past week. The Indy line was off when I checked it on Wednesday and then for whatever reason I checked out until I decided to make my picks early Sunday morning at which point I suddenly realized that I never updated the spreads. I set them at 5AM pacific time leaving people exactly...5 hours to make the pick. Some people managed to get the pick in because they leave things off as late as I do, but people who are actually proactive and get things done early were going to get punished, which...isn't fair. Couple that with some people being especially proactive and checking the line on Thursday (When it was Indy -2) or Saturday (when it was Indy+4[!?]) meant there was a lot of inconsistency. Because of this I chose simply not to count that particular spread across the board which is why the records add up to 15 games instead of 16. If you guys have a problem with that line of thinking let me know: madviking, Timsup, viva, and cake all took Houston outright (and so miss out on 2 points); KMR and illram didn't get a chance to make picks on the game.

As for the rest of the week, it was a really strong week for most everyone. When you're finishing 7th with 18 points you know it was a good week. Light Cleric and cake tie for the win with 22 points apiece. Taking covers was really the way to go this week. An all-covers pick would have resulted in a 23-point week as Washington, Detroit and Atlanta (and Houston) were the only upsets, and Carolina was the only who won but didn't cover. NYJ cov and CIN cov resulted in 18/18 points, SEA cov gave out 16/18. The worst games were the ATL upset (4/18), and WAS upset (6/18).

Overall Standings

10 | Azale | 84 | (38-8-31)
11 | classical_hero | 17 | (8-1-7)

Light Cleric adds another point to his lead, he's up to 26 points. Viva retains 2nd place off his 3rd place finish. The race for 2nd spreads out again a bit. 2 weeks to go!

Okay, I'm confused. I thought the line was off on the Indy and Houston game because of uncertainty about Andrew Luck. But now this week the line is off on the Houston game, not the Indy game. Why can't they come up with a line on a Houston game? I mean, no one knows who is going to play qb for the Texans, but given the choices I don't see why anyone would really CARE which lop gets the start. Beyond a certain point aren't they pretty much all the same?

Broncos cover. Why? This is a team that has proven to almost always win at home, even against the likes of green bay or the patriots. Andy dolton won't be showing up either, meanwhile Brock wants to prove he's worthy of replacing Peyton.
