It doesnt matter if you support or oppose war, if you believe in the majesty of peace, that there is always hope, that fear and hatred should be the ones feared and hated, post here.

im a warmonger in my Civ2 and Civ3 games
but in the real world, i oppose all wars.
hasnt the world learned that war doesnt solve anything from WW1 and WW2?
why is bush and blair messing with saddam now?
im not saying i support saddam or anything like that. but let's face it. he hasnt done anything but hide in his numerous palaces all over iraq ever since the gulf war. even if he has a bio/chemical/nuclear weapon or development program going, why provoke him?
they had a chance to get rid of him when he lost the gulf war. why didnt they? did they think that suddenly he'd do a 180 and go benevolent?
and now, under the umbrella of "war on terrorism", they try to go for it again. and this time, if he survives, what will they do? the same thing they did in '91? let him stay? only to go for it again in the next decade?
and i am sick of all these things that bush is almost trying to get into people's minds - that "if you're not with us in this war on terrorism, then your with the terrorists"
i m just sick of all that bull. they got afghanistan to be on its way to democracy. bush was very good keeping the country going after the 9/11 attacks. but cant he just get it through his thick head that: 1) who knows if binladen is alive or dead?, 2) al-Quada might be in disarray now but it might strike again, next time even deadlier than 9/11, and 3) that even AMERICA and BRITAIN are not invincible, even if they've got most of the world supporting their "benevolent" war.

There is always a better path than war, the hard part is finding it.

The wheels of war are already far in motion, and I see us entering a new age of conflict.

No peace will suffice, when the men in charge are ready to detonate.

It is sad that those fine men in that now rest in the D-Day Cemetary
perhaps thought that the 2nd Great War would be the final end to all conflicts.

How untrue it was proven.

Greed is still alive,
Hate is very much alive,
Ignorance is all around us,
Pettiness and stupidty is ruling our race.

There is no end to war, as humans we sadly just cannot resist the urge to destroy.

I do not confuse pacifism with peace.

Peace presents a bill in human lives that will always have to be paid.

One can always hope for better though.
