Due to a tragic accident. Dead before your time was truly up, you find yourself trapped in the underworld and awaiting you is Death, the Grim Reaper, in scythe and cloak. But Death is a being of good nature and gives you a sporting chance to live again.

Death challenges you to a sport/game of your choice and if you can beat Death at it, he shall let you live.

That's an interesting idea, but I think that we have to flush it out a bit more if we want to effectively trick Death.

For example, how do you lose at the game of death?

If the answer is "live," then how do you accomplish that feat if you're only able to play the game once you have already died?

Also, isn't "the game of death" Death's game? I mean, how do you expect to beat him? If you can't beat him, then he won't let you live again.

I'd love to see an answer that makes it all work out, though.
