Today at 6pm GMT the draw for the group stage will be held.

I would like for Porto to avoid Werder from pot 3 and maybe the two ukrainian teams and Hamburg from pot 4.

As usual UEFA in thier Chelsea hating ways have put us in pot 2 to probably be drawn with Barca and to other good teams while they protect their favourite clubs in Liverpool, North London and Manchester.

Nonsense, they use the results of the last years, I think five years, for the seeding mechanism. And Chelsea simply isn't a Russian club long enough to get to the first pot. I mean, Liverpool won it, Arsenal got to the final and Man Utd is constantly scoring points by always qualifying and usually getting past the first round, too.

For the same reason we are only the the third pot, as more than two years ago we weren't even in.

Quick comments on the portuguese teams' fate:

FC Porto: not easy, very balanced and no pushovers here.
Sporting: close to mission impossible, very hard.
Benfica: lucky bastids.

Even without a Werder bias I think one can say that Group A includes the best teams of pots 1 to 3. That's insane.

A pretty good group for ManU. We basically do not have to travel to far and we met teams that really do not worry us that much. I had a feeling that we would meet Celtic in the group stage.

there is one disadvantage of having an easy group. you'll meet the difficult teams later on. If Chelsea advance, they can't meet Barcelona until the final, something worth the thrill now
