Changing civ colors??

Hello

I'm just wondering why I can't change the colors for the civilazations? Every time I try, the game crashes and I did make sure that the color selected wasn't in use by another civ. I'm playing the americans and what an awful color they've got!
Any ideas?

I've noticed this too. It's only with certain civs that if you change the color the game crashes. I can change the Romans ... but not Americans or English.
