Hi,

Is there a way to do that ? I mean the basic ones, such as map type, difficulty, etc. I can change only the advanced ones at gameoption.xml, by adding <default>1</default>.

go to "setup game", you can change map type, difficulty and all that stuff there. There is another button on that interface, i think its called custom game or something like that, click that and you can change even more stuff.

Sorry, I think I didn't make me understand. I know how to change the custom options, but I dont want to do that every time I start a new custom game. At civ IV, the last settings you had chosen in your last game were kept when you try to start a new custom one.

Right now, the default options are always "continent maps", "small", "chieftain" and something else. I want to make "archipelago", "large", "prince" as default, but I dont know how.

it keeps your last settings if you launch from the setup game screen. It does not if you go into custom options, so even if you always do custom options, launch a game like I said from the setup game screen and then always it will be like that for default, then when you go to make your custom options, you won't have to make so many changes. ;)
