In an all out war scenario it can be very annoying when you use a nuclear weapon but then your allies declare war on you. I was wondering if anybody knew how to change their behaviour so that they kept their destructive power but you didn't take a reputation hit. What I want is to keep them the same but to not have people declare war on me.

Can anybody help? :(

EDIT: I am quite sure that this cannot be changed in the editor and that we need to change something in the coding.

I guess technically you can give it outrageous bombardment stats, unflag nuke and flag cruise missle, but other then that, sry dude
(O, also might wanna flag lethal sean and ground bomberdment)

Mark them as hidden nationality and you can throw twenty of them at an ally and they will still love you. I've tested it and should warn you that any war you get into with a nuke armed nation will escalate into a nuclear war. The AI has no problem throwing three a turn at one city.

Computerdud113 - Yes but a normal nuke affects all of the units in a city plus the population and improvment whereas this would only affect one of those things.

MarcusSaurono - I tried that a while back and everyone but the civ that I nuked declared war on me (though it could have changed by now - that was a few versions ago).

Nuke and hidden nationality without the world response huh? Maybe I can make a chemical weapons unit that way...

I need to retest it but is there a difference between a Tac Nuke pollution range and an ICBM. Or are there damages the same but ranges different?

Can you flag it so you dont need Manhattan Project to make a tac Nuke (I'm assuming not but maybe someone found a way to make tac nukes but not ICBMs).

I was using PTW updated all the way. It was fun until I had four nations throwing nukes at my cities every turn. Thank god for the satellites.

As for the Manhattan Project, I don't know.

Ekmek - Well on the list of units that I would like to see added to the game includes Nuclear Bombers (prequence to tacictical nuke), Biological Weapons (cant see why these arn't in they date back to collonial times when the British deliberatly gave the Delaware people Smallpox :( ), Chemical Weapons & maybe a Stealth Ship. Plus all of the units in Double Your Pleasure (wot a mod! :) )

I'm quite sure that the effects of tactical nukes and ICBMs is the same & I don't think it is currently possible to unflag Manhatten Project for a tactical nuke.

MarcusSaurono - I check that out then.

The only difference between the ICBM and the Tactical Nuke is that the ICBM has "Infinite Bombard Range" taged. It would be nice to be able to control the effective area of the nuke, though. Like instead of just a Tact Nuke have a 20 megaton nuke, 30 megaton, 40 megaton, etc... In the cold war, we were always trying to build bigger nukes than "the other guys." The idea of a hidden nationality nuke seems a bit unreasonable, because everyone would start nuking everyone, can you say Nuclear Winter :(. Though, the AI hardly ever uses the Privateer (spelling?), it might just be because it's not a powerful unit, with no bombard.

Yes, I can say Nuclear Winter. And surprisingly enough the AI will only use the nukes against enemies and usually in retaliation. However, the AI likes to increase the stakes, i hit them once they hit me twice... So... Nuclear Winter.

I have actually never seen an AI enemy attack with a nuke unless provoked, but I don't see the AI make many either. Although, I did once use 12 ICBM's in a sneak attack on my enemy, and then the entire world (allies too) declared war on me. Also, global warming killed a whole bunch of my people, because of the polution.
