Chi - Huge Fractal - invite only

Well, I'm just about out here. But Zoot had to build and transport some 200 units to do it. :p

Well, that was the largest battle I ever engaged in, probably by an order of magnitude.

After the stealth bomber, jet, and missile attacks, followed up with armour, mobile artillery, mech inf, and gunships. Finished off with a round of missiles to level down the remaining artillery.

Am left with just over 100 units outside the city, which should fall next turn.

 most I ever had in a SOD was about 50.

His stack is bigger than that. About 100 modern armor, 33 gunships, 10 mobile arty, and that's just the one stack. I started that battle with 27 arty, 9 mg, 30 anti-tanks, 85 infantry, 45 SAM infantry. Including ships, missiles, and planes, he must have committed 250-300 units to the war.

I'm out. This is only the second PBEM game I've been in. I've learned some things. One, never play a fractal map. :p

Now I guess a choice of which way shall you win. Domination, Conquest or send that Spaceship up, even Cultural. To bad you can't make all 4 occur at the same time :D

Given my culture, and the raft of recent cities taken, I suspect domination will be here very shortly.

If not, Darius lies on my own continent, once I have airlifted a few of the 200 armour back home.

Maybe slightly premature, but time to reflect on the fact that I could - and should - have been eliminated from this game very early on.

Paradigm Shifter had me hemmed in to the corner of my continent, had greater productive capacity ( hammers ) and a massive army with a whole bunch of elephants.

I was truly dead in the water.

And then he split his forces to wipe out my ivory. He need not have bothered.
I could not have repelled him if he launched all in a single stack.

I sacrificed a load of cats, killing enough of his forces to get promotions, and his remaining forces were so weakened by the cats, they could not attack and kill my units, which then had time to heal. Whip a few more cats ready for his second wave, and it was then all but sorted.

Then it would have been a very different game. After I survived my financial traits took my economy way ahead. PS would not have had that advantage.

Wow 200 Armor on standby. It has been enjoyable. I wish we hadn't done the restart oh so long ago. I had good position before that. I chose to aim for #2 with my location being crappy. I'd have more troops to throw into the fire if I didn't have to watch my back. #3 may wish to push for #2 :)

By the way; I don't think I've ever been in a game where you were dead in the water.
