Spoiler :

BEIJING—Think a bottle of mineral water might have poisoned you? Then test it on a chicken.

One Chinese family on the southern island province of Hainan had just that idea when one of their number started vomiting blood after drinking a bottle of water, a newspaper said.

They fed the luckless chicken the rest of the water to see what would happen, the Beijing News said, citing a report in a local paper. "The result was the chicken died within a minute," it said, showing a picture of a man holding a plastic bottle squatting over the crumpled body of the bird.

The province's authorities were investigating, it added.

Barely a day goes by without some new scandal over a made-in-China product, be it toys, toothpaste or fish, which has raised safety concerns in major export markets around the world.

Any Comments/Jokes/LOL(s)/ect?

China just can't do anything right atm.

sadistic bastards.. feeding the rest of the water to it, "just to see what will happen".

That's funny and awesome while very, very sad. Moral of the story: Bring your own bottled water.

Guess there was something more than lead in it. O SNAP!

It is all capitalisms fault. If corporations weren't driven by profits they wouldn't cut corners by not testing their products.

ive heard that if you expose bottled water to heat for a long enough period of time that chemicals in the plastic can absorb into the water, it linked it to cancer but not to anything that as fatal as a man coughing up blood.

Incorrect!
Moral of the story: China's water is now offically as bad as Mexico's.

I can imagine the PR campaign they'll have to run to bring consumers back.

China Spring Water, now with 100% less chicken killing power.

The Epoch Times are a crazy fundie rightwing organization which is incredibly critical of the Chinese government, I wouldn't trust it as a valid source. Not saying the PRC is innocent in any way, but neither is the front paper for the Falun Gong.

That's right. So in order to fix that problem this is where this handy dandy tool called regulation helps.

They might also have to place regulations to make sure no more chickens die off. ;)

I aslo say that just becuase one bottled water is tainted it doesn't mean that all of them are.

That is it! I am done buying products made in China. It is simply becoming ridiculous that they can still do business with the rest of the world. If it says "Made In China" on the product, on the shelf, it shall no longer exists, to me. I don't care if I have to pay more for things.

You could also demand the Chinese government to place regulations on the bottled water industry which might help things a little bit.

Sir, refusing the buy their product is a very persuasive form of demand.

Exactly!, thank you for pointing that out

Well I sometimes left bottled water out in the sun, I knew it tasted somewhat weird afterwards, but I dont think the chemicals in plastic is enough to kill someone, maybe give someone something nasty, but not kill them

Soon they will ship them here so our entire population in california is vomiting blood when they invade.

But before that, North Korea will make Los Angeles look like Hiroshima, and Bush will still retaliate against the wrong country...

Just kidding :p
