* The game is now full *

Standard SG rules: no restarting, no auto-gotos.

Settings:

Chieftain Mode
Restless Tribes
80% water, Continents
wet climate
temperate
3 billion years
7 civs
We start as the Zulus

Rounds will be 20 turns each. 24 hours to post that you're playing, and 24 hours to post your turn.

Players:

1: Chieftess On Deck
2: Hammurabi II
3: Axid
4: johgn
5: Octavian X Now Playing

Throughout the game, we'll include maps for city placement, troop movement, and expansion/war strategies. I'll also keep a "Civ Era History" log. The next few posts will be for those "pages", because of the character limit. (Yes, this is modeled after one of the other SG groups that uses this. It just seems fun, so I'm using that idea too).

There's 3 "pages" of history. I don't know if we'll need them all, but if the game survives long enough, then we might need them.

Early Exploration: 4,000 BC - 3,000 BC
Much of our continent is a jungle, with a long mountain range; features resembling that of South America. Not much can can be said of it except that it is full of spices. We still remain quite small, though.[/b]

Dreams of Empire: 3,000 BC - 2,150 BC
Our civilization is growing slowly, having founded only one other city. Our goal is to expand northward and clear the land for our people.

The Warrior's Blade: 2,150 BC - 1,600 BC
This saw our first, however short, war with the Greeks in which we captured an undefended city. We now have a clearing and are putting pressure on the other civs.

Iron Fist: 1,600 BC - 1,075 BC
Our metalist have stumbled on a new type of metal which is even stronger than bronze! They've come up with a name for it, Iron. Iron forges are appearing throughout our towns and prepairing weapons for our swordsmen! Horses have also been spotted, and may be beneficial in the clearing.

The Good Spy: 1,075 BC - 610 BC
This era saw what appeared to be a friendly coexistence between the Zulus and Japanese. Our scout was simply posing as a tourist, waltzing through the land of the Japanese. In reality, he was collecting tactical information for our future invasion. By the end of the era, tensions due to the impending invasion started to mount.

The Japanese-Zulu Wars: 610 BC - 210 BC
Halfway through this era, we started our campaign against the Japanese. We are quickly moving north, conquering city by city. The Japanese can't hold out for much longer!

The Age of the Colossus: 210 BC - 190 AD
This era was celebrated with the completion of the Great Colossus in Zimbabwe. It was to be a magnificant time for the Zulus. The Zulu-Japanese war also continued, and was successful at the end of this era. Our sights then turned onto the Greeks.

The Greco-Zulu War: 190 AD - 420 AD
The war with the Greeks have begun! Swordsman and Impis all throughout the land were being trained in order to secure the northern lands. Fierce fighting could be heard as our troops approached Greece.

The Silent Wars: 420 AD - 620 AD
Our war with the Greeks is stalling into a fierce battle for their capital. Athens has now been under seige for 200 years! Athens is reported to have one of its' Elite Spearmen Divisions in its' borders.

Athens, the Golden Prize: 620 AD - 820 AD
Just decades after "The Silent Wars" , they turn loud, and our forces smash through the gates of Athens, as well as other Greecan cities. The Gre- err, former Greecan Empire is now within our grasp! Zulu forces are now poised to take the rest of the continent!

(1) 4000 BC -

Our tribe decends from the mountains. There is a known fishing grounds to the north. We have several directions to head out. Our scout heads to the south-east across the jungle, and see two luxeries off to the distance.

(2) 3950 BC -

We go coastal, and the founding of Zimbabwe finds a hut giving us a map of the surronding area! 3 spice squares! However, we're in a lot of jungle.

(3) 3900 BC -

We begin researching Bronze Working for the UU Impi!

(4) 3850 BC -

Our scout starts to uncover what appears to be a mountain range to the west, running north to south.

(5) 3800 BC -

Assyrian tribe teaches us Ceremonial Burial!

(6) 3750 BC -

More mountains!

(7) 3700 BC -

Warrior is built, and a worker is under "construction" for more roads. Science and gold are all but null now. Mapmaking is 2nd on our techs-to-need list. A light blue border is discovered! Who are these people? Micromanaged (yeah, with a size 1 city! :crazyeyes ) to get +1 gold and Bronze Working in 16 turns.

(8) 3650 BC -

Scout inches closer to mysterious light blue border.

(9) 3600 BC -

It's the Chinese! They aren't willing to trade techs, so we sign a peace treaty.

(10) 3550 BC -

Nothing of interest.

(11) 3500 BC -

Chinese and Zulu borders expand.

(12) 3450 BC -

Nothing of interest.

(13) 3400 BC -

Road to spice being built.

(14) 3350 BC -

Our scout reveals that we may be on some sort of penninsula

(15) 3300 BC -

Nothing of interest.

(16) 3250 BC -

Nothing of interest.

(17) 3200 BC -

Worker built.

(18) 3150 BC -

Spice discovered far to the south-west. Looks like the Chinese might get to it before we can in the long run.

(19) 3100 BC -

More spice squares.

(20) 3050 BC -

There's a river headed towards the Chinese.

Game Assesment:

Looks like there's a lot of jungle. Hopefully, we'll get a lot of resources from those mountains. We'll also have to cut off the Chinese and use that river. (Who would've though? A challenge in Chieftain mode for all you Regent/Monarchy warmongers out there? :)). 16 turns or so until our UU, but there's a lot of jungle. China might be a long term goal. It looks like we'll have to be fast in city placement. (images coming).

Here's our map. The pink radius, and dot is where our 2nd city should be. The is yellow is probable in an attempt to out manuver the Chinese. 2 more cities to the south/south-west would be in order two, but probably by the 3rd or 4th player.

And here's the all important game save. :)

So, do you want to join, or should I choose another map? (Since the last SG I saw where they started on a jungle, they restarted). :)

I'd like to play. Land looks horrible, but I vote play it. It's Chieftain so it shouldn't be that hard, and there may be good land up north. But wouldn't it be funny if we lost, on Chieftain!

Ok, you're in! Now we just need 2 or 3 more players.

So do I play now? Is Sirian playing? Should I wait for him or go?

Sure, you can play. Hammurabi II is playing now, so you can play next.

i'll probably have ot do it tomorrow but i will do it and post it tommoro, at the latest. hat is if hamurabi posts it tonight.

After the death of Chieftess, a great leader arises from the midst of Zimbabwe, a man named Hammurabi II. He does not know why he is called this, he asks, "What is an abi? I know a ham, but the or abi thing makes me confused." In the first year of Ham-or-abi II's reign, the workers complete a road to the spices near Zimbabwe, and customers in restaurants near the Palace are heard complaining of too much salt in their ham.(Now the only allowed food in Zululand) (Is salt a spice?) After 50 years Hammurabi has not seemed to age a bit, and the Zulu wise men discover a strange metal called Bronze. The archers being produced in Zimbabwe are changed to Impi's,(although they do not look like imps after 50 years of ham for every meal.)
After 310 years of Nothings, Something happens at Zimbabwe. Some workers sent to a distant hut report that they have dicovered settlers that wish to join the great Zulu empire. Medical shacks in Zimbabwe are swamped with heart attack victims, that claim they were overwhelmed with the excitement of something happening. After a very short 40 years, a group of Impi's are completed at Zimbawe, and a group of settlers are started at Zimbabwe( We may have to call the next city Huttland with the size of the Zulupeople) and a group of workers start clearing jungle, and aree reported to be eating the snakes and flies, they're so eager for something other than cooked ham. After 120 short years, More obese settlers start clearing the jungle (rumors are heard that the Zulu wise men should go for Mathematics, so they can use the catapults to through workers into the jungle, the shock wave from the impact would level the surrounding area. The next turn our scouts travel through foreign land of a country called China, and these scouts wonder why it is called so, they see jungle, no dishes. After another very qiuck 120 years, Ulundi is founded south of Zimbabwe, but alas! the ham filled people are to far north to fish the fish filled waters southward. In the next turn our explorer finds a warrior from a hut a few squares south of the Chinese! The warriors ooh and ahh at the stick people. After 120 more years, Some Impi's traveling north spot a hut and a green border. But Alas! Hammurabi dies tragically, of heart congestion, and the people mourn( but only for a day, the next day they through a feast and eat everything but ham. All the pigs in the city are burned at the stake, but the people are so sickened at the smell of cooked ham that they can't through them into the ocean, even the flies stay away from it.

Tell me if you like it, it was my first attempt at any semblence of humor or a story. I can say this at least, we're bigger than the Chinese. They have one city, we have two. This land is horrible. The only grassland I can remember was a tiny bit south of China. Check out the hut up north, and the green people too. Good luck Axid, you'll need it!

And the save:D

The save:D

I got some of the humor. So, any maps, and the all important game save? We should post our territory maps so the next person knows what to do next. (and where to build).
