China and Japan

Why is the CCP not legit? There was a civil war, and they defeated the CNP. It would be like saying Parliament in the ECW not the rightful government even though they won the civil war.

You win the civil war, you are the rightful government.

Because the US didn't support them. USA #1

North Korea has a better education system than USA.
Sorry, but LMAO.

Wait, where you being serious? The following point alone makes me highly doubt what you say. If North Korea had a better education system than the USA, one might think the people would have had a massive revolution long ago to get rid of their horrible government once they found out how life is so much better in many other places.

Horrible government is in the eye of the citizen is it not? You could say the same about alot of places now couldn't you? Education system a revolution does not make. We have a good education system here for the most part yet we have done little to curve corruption in our own government.

Whether or not they actually have a better education system, you're ignoring the entire aspect of propaganda and sheltered citizenry. The Chinese government (for instance) still censors searches for democracy, the Dalai Lama or Tienanmen Square.

Of course education regarding the outside world alone would not necessarily make the people revolt, but it would make them more likely I would assume. North Korean people and North Korea itself are wayyyyyyyyyy worse off than us though, even though we, like many countries, have corruption.

Protecting citizens from outside perversions for the betterment of society. It's not different than any religious group really.

They should though IMO. Our job is to protect freedom. Now, to invade every country that ISN'T free just on those grounds would cost too much and make us too hated, but we should not be friendly with such countries or support them. That's why I don't think we should have truly alligned with Russia in WWII. We should have not attacked them until we killed Germany, but Russia committed mass genocide too and should have been invaded.
The job of the USA is to protect freedom? If so, you are doing a remarkably half-hearted job.

There is a difference between dictatorship and genocide. Dictators have to be tolerated by countries like the US and the UK, but we should not support them. Those that commit genocide should not be tolerated.
Please tell me when the mass murders commited by dictators become genocide.

Just curious Arakhor, but would you be strongly against invaded North Korea? The country that has thousands of people emigrate illegally to CHINA every year as refugees, even though if China deports them they run the risk of execution for "Criticizing the quality of life in North Korea?"

Any country so unfree that CHINA has to take them as REFUGEES should just be liberated. We could use the argument that they are rightfully part of the ROK anyway.
The only three problems that anyone who knows about North Korea has with invading North Korea is:
1. China won't like it and might even intervene. Not that China likes North Korea, but a strong US ally on their border is not helpful for them, and having something to put pressure on the US during international dealings is helpful.
2. South Korea fears the day they will need to pay to fix up North Korea. If you think West Germany had a bad time with East Germany, you won't believe how bad it will be with Korea.
3. North Korea may cause damage to northern parts of South Korea, and any modern democracy is loath to bring its mainland and its citisens into a war zone.

If we can handle those 3, I'm all for taking out the North Korean government as fast as the laws of physics allows.

North Koreans have better social services than we do.
This is the only thing Domination3000 has said in this thread that I can wholeheartedly agree with.

You are really ignorant to the world aren't you? North Korea has a higher literacy rate than the US. More readied access to health care, which is also free along with education and all other basic needs. North Korea has a better education system than USA.
This is ridiculous. There is no way that you - or the CIA for that matter - can know the literacy rate of North Korea. Though I don't doubt that if you don't count with the hundreds of thousands in concentration camps you do get a decent amount who can read.

Health care may be "free" and accessible, but it is severely limited because they don't have enough equipment.

And if the US would start killing off or putting all difficult people in concentration camps I'm sure the US education system would improve statistically as well.

Why is the CCP not legit? There was a civil war, and they defeated the CNP. It would be like saying Parliament in the ECW not the rightful government even though they won the civil war.

You win the civil war, you are the rightful government.
The war was never over however... The straight of Formosa simply ceased any continued armed conflict - for the time being.

Am I the only one who immediately thought about the Pratchett's book Jingo when seeing two powers disputing a tiny volcano in the middle of the sea ?

Corruption is far worse in North Korea - setting up a black market economy is the only way people have been able to survive for the last 20 years. That's why there was almost a revolution happening recently when the government devalued the money to root out the black market.

Since when was religion a good thing? :crazyeye:

You're just pulling our leg. :)

How is that propaganda treating you?

How is that propaganda treating you?
How's North Korean Propaganda treating you? North Korea has a better education system than the US= LOL.

I would like some proof that North Korea has a better education system than the US. I doubt you'll find it.

Not trying to be rude to you personally, but that quote of yours is sig worthy. If you actually believe that... I would like some proof.

Maybe you should do some research? Read a book and get back to me. MSNBC isn't the answer to all life's questions. :p

I can't tell how much you are trolling. I know you know alot about Asia, so I value your opinion on asia, but this conflicts too much with my understanding of DPRK.

Ever heard of WWII?
I think he's saying something different than what you think he's saying, but I could be wrong. I think he's saying that there are dictators who kill people, but when will the poster he was replying to consider those genocide? He was saying that in response to a post by another poster.

I don't go to MSNBC for news. I go to CNN and France 24 mostly. I go to France 24 the most though.

Still, I'd like a link to evidence that North Korea has a better education system than the US. I highly doubt North Korea has a better education system than the US. Telling me to read books and that MSNBC isn't the answer to all life's questions isn't the response I was looking for.

Naturally, the islands should stay under Japanese jurisdiction until the rightful government of the Chinese Nationalist Party is restored in Nanjing, at which time negotiations would be prudent.

Jiang lost, just like Cornwallis and Nicholas II before him. Taiwan was not a bad consolation prize.

Do I need to call you out on your lack of knowing anything at all again?

You have the approach of an internet tough guy. It is really obnoxious. I hope, for your sake, this doesn't carry over into real life interactions with people.

But just for giggles, what would the US Navy do? As long as President Obama is in charge, it will look the other way.

Yea, because Obama has been a real dove in foreign policy...

I can't tell how much you are trolling. I know you know alot about Asia, so I value your opinion on asia, but this conflicts too much with my understanding of DPRK.

Luckysan knows a fair amount on Japan, but he's not some Asia wiz. I'm pretty sure he be trollin'
