trying China for 1st time and cant find the way to spend builder on wonder. do i place on wonder or in city? i dont see an option highlighted either way

you place the builder on wonder, and the wonder must be a wonder of before medieval times

There should be a little icon in the lower right corner of your screen in the box that describes your highlighted unit, it's actually on the top part of that box and has a little + symbol on the icon. That's the one.
