Chinese Unique Power

ok, i am playing the chinese, i look at their Unique Power, but i have then been searching for info on what it actually do, not found much i can use, in one place there is some referrence to it gives you +50% military production, but my axeman, which is a melee unit, dont seem to get any 50% bonus on production, so perhaps thats not it.

could someone help me out, with this unique power?

I believe they are only 67% of their usual amount, rather than an 150% bonus, because otherwise whipping could be used to exploit the unique power.

finally an answer, ok, just playing as russia at the moment, see an axeman cost 31 to make and the chinese axeman is 25, so like 20% discount, well i knew now why i find it hard to figure this power out or is the different cost between those of another reason?

Each civ has the cost of their units and buildings changed depending on their starting date, so this is the reason for it. The chinese have the same production rates as India, Egypt and Babylon but with this slight extra bonus.

yeah it's 50% of their actual (increased) cost (for being an early civ)
