    Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but i just would like a brief explanation. Many download maps of Earth for example have the civs already chosen and you can't change them at all. I only have one old earth map that allows you to choose how many and what civs you want. Would this sort of map be called a "clean" map? This really gives the map alot more playability potential. Does anyone know how to take a map with 18 civs for example and choose diferent civs? Is there an easy way to change the file or options to do this. Thanks.

    You'll have to open up the map file with notepad or something (I would recommend downloading Notepad++).
    In it delete everything between
    -BeginPlayer and End Player (lists each civilization/leader)
    -BeginTeam and Begin Team (lists starting techs for each player)
    and replace it with this:

    Spoiler :

    BeginPlayer
    LeaderType=NONE
    CivType=NONE
    Team=0
    RandomStartLocation=true
    EndPlayer
    BeginPlayer
