Christian soldiers: how do you reconcile your duty with the Sixth Commandment?

Good point. I did not make myself very clear. God doesn't qualify one sin as better or worse than another, but man does and should. It is how we maintain order. Only a sociopath would be unable to tell the difference between an ax murderer and some one who cheats on his taxes.
Well....God doesn't differentiate some as "OK" and some as "not OK." But I do think God sees the difference between them, and judges the ax murderer and the tax evader differently. If it's more just for man to do that, I can't see how God does otherwise.

But we are no longer subject to some of the laws, such as the prohibitions on pork, or meat with dairy. It is a new Covenant.
Those weren't meant for gentiles in the first place - I'm talking about a different covenant, the one with Noah, not Moses. And that applies to all of mankind.

God doesn't qualify one sin as better or worse than another, but man does and should.
Um, that's patently false. Christianity divides sins into at the least venial and mortal sins, and they do have a different effect on salvation.

Christianity is more than just Catholicism. Biblically, to my knowledge, there is only 1 unforgiveable sin.

Orthodoxy, while not maintaining a specific list, recongizes differences in the degree of sins as well.

so in reality, in usual, it's a result of the Protestant heresy that allows Vlad the Impaler go to heaven.

No....its Protestant heresy that allows Vlad the Impaler a chance to go to heaven. The bible is quite clear on the forgiveness issue. If a guy like Paul, who killed many Christians in his own right, a chance to redeem himself and enter heaven, I dont see much reason to deny person X the same chance at redemption.
