What ist thine favourite Chistsmas songs? Mine probably are "Es ist ein Ros"(Lo, a Rose e'er Blooming), "In Dulci Jubilo", and Tempus Adest Floridum (Good King Wencelas). And "The Holly anad the Ivy" is a good one too. I, however, depise novelty songs with a passion.

Due to a certain piece I played in concert band named "Christmas Festival", I currently hate every Christmas song in existence, meerly because I'll eventually start fingering along to it absent-mindedly.

And no, I do not mean that in a disgusting way. I'm a clarinetist, fingering is what we do best. ;)

Chicane - "Saltwater" - Probably one of the best music pieces of all time

Merry Christmas Baby. A blues staple, but Elvis' is by far my favorite.

The Eagles cover of "Please Come Home for Christmas."

    "The Carol of the Bells"

Thanks to that movie "Love, Actually" this year I've been conscious of/enjoying "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

I believe I played that at youth orchestra. In band we played ""Christmas Celebration" which the chorus sang with us playing. they weren't as good as we were :D

Little Drummer Boy; Adeste Fideles; We Three Kings; Do You Hear What I Hear?; Stille Nacht; God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen; Oh Holy Night.

A new favorite is the Japanese translation of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a song I don't much care for in the original.

Another new favorite is a Latin traslation of the Twelve Days of Christmas that I recently came across. I'm a sucker for Latin. You could translate "I Did It All For The Nookie" into Latin and suddenly I'd like it.

I didn't get to hear that one this year. No wonder my Christmas felt incomplete. :(

I know exactly how you feel. If I ever find Leroy Anderson, I'm going to cram the trumpet part of that down his throat. Why? Because I spent a couple of weeks trying to get it right, only to play it once every year. Remind me never to try with carols.

Mind you, it isn't a bad song, just too much for a song you play once.
