Chronicles of Mankind

Never seen something like that and have no idea how it could be related to the hotfix. Makes no sense :dunno:
Does it happen every time you load the game or only on start?

So far i had the issue only just after starting a new game, but i will keep an eye on it.

I just spotted an other small issue in the same game: The "Trophy" generates too much :culture:.
It should give +2:culture:, but instead i get +4:culture: :hmm:
I settled my second city and got +2:culture: when i built it. Is there any condition where i would get more out of it?
I´m still in Ancient Era and found no hint in the civics or leader abilities regarding this. A recalc or reload also didn´t help.

Also:
I am really considering cutting Pastoral and Maritime civics and merging them into Agrarian. Pen and Boatyard would be moved to Agrarian and only 1 of the 3 civic buildings could be built in each city, so you have to specialize. Maybe a better name is also needed for the civic... Or not... Not sure.

May be a better choice, i agree. Personally i never used Agrarian or Maritime civic so far, Pastoral was always the better choice because of the free Specialist the Pen gives.
Well, maybe keep Maritime, it would be more useful for Archipelago maps.
Make it a little stronger by cutting the -10%:food: and -10%:hammers: (they know better how to extract resources from the ocean).
A 50% (?) Construction bonus for Shipyard and similar maritime buildings/wonders might also help.
Or negate the +1:yuck: from Boat-/and Shipyard. Or something like +10%:commerce: from some sea resources like Pearls etc.

I noticed just recently that you can also build Fishing Boats/Community on ocean terrain with Kelp/Islets etc.
Maybe add this useful info also to the appropriate pages in the Sevopedia?

It is possible but I never thought it was necessary since it is so straightforward: Ram --> Sheep, Bull --> Cow, Elephant --> Ivory, etc.

Yeah, it is rather straightforward. But i would also like to see the info on what terrain the animal can be settled.

I float the idea around in the main AND forum, together with a better route pillage system i found recently.

Resources: I plan to expand this area too. E.g. split Gems into Ruby, Diamond, Sapphire, Emerald. And add some others their categories, like Barley to grain, Melon to fruits, etc. On maps with more than one continent you will always have a reason to conquer the other continents as they have resources that yours don't. (Basically this is already this way but may not be so noticable.)
This would give further value to exploration once oceans can be crossed adn new lands seized, it would be great.

Nobel-prize (Project)
Allows every player 3 new buildings:

1) Nobel Peace Prize

  • can be built only by Great Diplomat
  • +1 :) in all cities
  • 1 free magistrate in city
2) Nobel Prize in Physics
  • can be built only by Great Scientist
  • +1 free tech
  • 1 free scientist in city
3) Nobel Prize in Literature
  • can be built only by Great Artist
  • some kind of culture boost
  • 1 free artist in city
I really do like this idea, it gives great people an additional usage late game, fantastic.
4) Novel Prize in Economics
  • can be built only be Great Merchant
  • +10% gold in city
  • 1 free merchant in city
Modern Olympics (World Wonder) and World Expo (World Wonder) would be two new wonders from the Industrial era onward. I am not settled with the exact effects but the general idea is this:
  • build the wonder
  • it stays for 10 turns in the city
  • than is removed by an event and replaced by Past World Event (building)
  • also can choose some one-time bonus (similarly as with Gathering)
  • the wonder can be built again by ANYONE
  • a city with Past World Event cannot build the Modern Olimpics or World Expo - so you cannot rebuild it in your top-production city again-and-again, thus giving a chance to other civs too
I like the idea of a gathering-like-ability in the late game.
Some building ideas:
  • Modern Olympics: +2 :) in all cities, +30% :culture: in all cities, +x National Stability
  • Past Modern Olympics: +5% :culture: in city, +x Local stability
  • World Exposition: +5% :hammers: in all cities, +10% :science: in all cities, +5% :espionage: in all cities
  • Past World Exposition: +5% :science: in city
Some event ideas:
Modern Olympics:
  • +10 Experience too troops in city (Your troops get to train in the olympics)
  • +10 National stability for x turns (Your team wins gold, this unites the people)
  • 1 free general in city (The coach of your team retires and becomes a military instructor)
  • +1 diplomatic relation with each civ (You see too it that every civ wins atleast on gold medal)
World Exposition:
  • 2 free scientists in city (A world renowned science team stays in the city after the exposition)
  • +500 espionage with each civ (Once delegats from all over the world is gathered in your city, you seize the opportunity to spy upon them)
  • +100 :food: in each city (During the exposition new farming techniques and machinery is displayed)
  • +2 Construction teams (During the exposition new engineering and construction techniques were displayed), (The construction team is a unit used to hurry production)
It can make place for itself given the right circumstances. What do you think a Dreadnought Armor could do in the middle of the Modern era? :mischief:
Aliens could have their own UUs too that could be stronger than regular terran ones. Just drop in a Mothership and a couple of Tripods and empires will fall :mwaha:
My greater concern is the code that can spawn a specific civ at a specific point of the game and not before
If there is a problem of where to place this new civ one could consider this idea:
The Aliens mind control a civ and takes over that empire. From a coding standpoint this could probably be done using the revolutions mod, simply have the whole empire revolt into the alien civ.

There is a big issue with balancing when it comes to pastoral, i think the idea too combine the 3 would be good. Name the new civic: pasagrime.

4) Novel Prize in Economics
  • can be built only be Great Merchant
  • +10% gold in city
  • 1 free merchant in city
Oh! I missed that. Didn't know there was an Economic award too (I just checked the Civ6 section). Good idea! :goodjob:
Actually it would be best if there was one for each great person...

I like the idea of a gathering-like-ability in the late game.

I want to have the same "blocking" building for both Olympics and the Expo, so you cannot build both in the same city. This is to stop proliferating even if you are a leading civ.

Modern Olympics:
  • +10 Experience too troops in city (Your troops get to train in the olympics)

Good! :)

The Revolutions code is really not that simple. I won't even try to touch it not to break anything.

There is a big issue with balancing when it comes to pastoral, i think the idea too combine the 3 would be good. Name the new civic: pasagrime.
What??? Is that a real word? I didn't find anything matching it. Or it's jst you made it up from the 3 words, right?
But after some research on Agriculture topic I think the name 'Agrarian' can stay as it covers Pastoralism and Fishing too. Not very well, but covers them.

Well, actually there is no real Nobel Price for Economics, it´s a price donated by the swedish central bank.
The only real categories for Nobel prices are: Chemistry, Literature, Peace, Physics and Physiology or Medicine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Memorial_Prize_in_Economic_Sciences

But that doesn´t mean that you cannot add it to the game...;)

Makes sence.

It's not a real word, i was joking. :crazyeye:

My bad. I should know better, im swedish.

They also awarded a Nobell prize to the man who invented the door knocker. :)

I see two possible solutions:

1) Use only real-life Nobel Prizes and the same prize can be awarded more than one type of GP:
  • Nobel Peace Prize byGreatDiplomat, Great Prophet, Great Spy and maybe even Great General
  • Nobel Prize in Physics by Great Scientist and Great Engineer
  • Nobel Prize in Literature by Great Artist
  • Nobel Prize in Economics by Great Merchant
This is more historic but also inconsistent as a Great Prophet would build a building that adds a Magistrate instead of a Priest and so on.

2) Use real-life and fictional Nobel Prizes so each GP can have it's own:

1) Nobel Peace Prize
  • can be built only by Great Diplomat
  • +1 :) in all cities
  • 1 free magistrate in city
2) Nobel Prize in Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Medicine combined into one)
  • can be built only by Great Scientist
  • +1 free tech
  • 1 free scientist in city
3) Nobel Prize in Literature
  • can be built only by Great Artist
  • some kind of culture boost
  • 1 free artist in city
4) Nobel Prize in Economics
  • can be built only be Great Merchant
  • +10% gold in city
  • +1 Trade Routes
  • +50% Trade Routes Yield
  • 1 free merchant in city
5) Nobel Prize in Architecture
  • can be built only be Great Engineer
  • +1 wonder capacity
  • +25% building production in city
  • 1 free engineer in city
Now comes the harder part...

6) Nobel Prize in Security (for operations in fighting crime and terrorism)
  • can be built only be Great Spy
  • -20% war weariness and anarchy length
  • 1 free spy in city
7) Great General ???

8) Great Prophet ???

As you see it is really hard to come up good fictional awards for all GPs and still keep the original spirit of Nobel Prize.

Personally im a bit uncertain about this prize. It's hard to change it considerably, i would more like an espionage bonus instead of an war weariness. Your prize might be better, but i would atleast like to put forth my idea with +x%:espionage: instead of war weariness.
6) Nobel Prize in Security (for operations in fighting crime and terrorism)
  • can be built only be Great Spy
  • +50% :espionage:
  • -30% anarchy length
  • 1 free spy in city
7) Great General ???
The great general can already create the buildings: "Military academy" and "Secret army base", is a "nobel prize" really needed for the general?

8) Great Prophet ???
8) Nobel prize in psychology
  • Can be built only by great prophet
  • + 5 local stability in city
  • +1:c5happy: in city
  • 1 free prophet in city
(New psychological treatments aid in treating the populaces mental illnesses, creating a more stable society)

Somehow with 1.0.6 I have removed some changes I added in 1.0.5 :eek:Sot that's what I'm working on now to restore what I mess up accidentally

EDIT:
Looks like it was only the changes about Eureka but let me know if you find something else strange.

I checked: It's culture doubles every 200 turns.
I don't know why II added that but I'm removing that part so it will stay at a flat +2:culture:
Thanks for the report.

Here's a little something from the next version:

(NEW FEATURE) "Difficulty Scaling with Empire Size"

Hopefully it will make the later game more and more challenging.

I think Myth of the Hero is too strong with the "+5% Great General Mergence". It needs a new, non-empire-wide effect but I don't want to give it a flat +1Xp, that's boring. Rather a week promotion that is good in the early game but not much in the later part.

EDIT:

I think I'll try this:
Brave: +1 First Strike Chance

Hi, i'm experiencing some MAF errors on giant maps ,40+ civs, megacivpack, epic when i use the map editor for too long. Is there any way to avoid this issue ? I have only 8 gigs of ram though.

Great Job anyway for your mod.
