    Lemme look at save.

Yep 11 food required for growth with 2 hammers spare from 18 production in city.

Where are we planning 3rd city?? Fish?? Rice? Clams?? Heading toward Isabella makes sense if we can't attack her? Only bonus of fish is the food. It would need a border pop or LH to gain anything useful land wise.

    Chops into settler?

Risk of barbs from the east?? How do we counter this?

Yes I forgot about Cha. Also helpful on unit promotions too.

We are all about the little gains :D

Yeah, if York still grows as planned, then it would be a great move, with more hammers going into new settler.

Let me know your thoughts on little micros for the next turns or so, but let me see if I can recap. (avoiding opening save at moment so I can type freely and un-iphony)

York (switch to copper this turn or next..will check)..London takes spice for one of those turns

N worker - mine or new chop (silk?) for next item?

S worker - finish chop >move to galley next turn > move to sheep >improve> swim to York to road copper

London - finish GLH>settler? (tech timing might change this if we finish POT..could start granary)

York - Galley into settler - possibly build an axe here at some point during settler build

ugh ..duh..i'm just confused not looking at save..I was really just thinking about the galley finishing..so really there is no point at all here..ha

I guess the question is do we have time for road placement vs. something else like a chop or mine in conjunction with the settler timing (and movement - kinda slow that way)

and yeah..good ole worker names ;)

oh..i'm in no way disputing the need for that road..just the timing of it. I think that worker is ready to move wherever this turn..forest, mine, road...but we've not even started the settler yet. So may be time for worker to perform some other action before starting road..which could also be in process during settler movement. (hmm..i wonder if Galley would help speed settler movement a turn or so..think on that one)

Also, wonder if it would be worth a city on sheep island just for the trade route...crap otherwise, but would boost our overall tech with glh?

You already have York at size 2 :)
So copper + mine will be perfect for settler.

Hmm north worker (should we rename them like sgotm?), we also need a road towards fish city.
Bit connected to pottery plans as well, if we choose pottery (5 turns) i would rather build those river cottages than another mine.
That would be spice road, sw of spice to complete, then cottages.

Other worker that's very good with unloading in York and improving copper after sheep, yup.
Only downside is galley bound for transport (not exploring), maybe another reason for pottery first we might not manage scouting in time for trade routes (could start writing now easily).

Thingy with that road is, there's no chance of getting trade routes in fish city otherwise cos i doubt we can manage to unfog all sea up there with no galley etc.
Also Gumbo does have a point on barbs, and it's good having a road towards new cities should they suddenly rush there.

Assuming we get 2 settlers, York for Rice + floodplains (?) and London for fish somewhere.
Even if we lack workers for them now, with GLH cities are great without anything.

True, hmm well another mine would only be useful for fish city thou, maybe.
London does have 2 cos York will get sheep soon.

Chop could speed up settler, but would we want to settle without trade routes?

1 strong reason why i like fish city even if it has problems working anything useful (besides routes), natural fog busting. Over that lake. We could sort that situation out, if our 2 warris can move a bit east too and woodie defends against another archer and wins.
Can also start gathering a bit food for eventual momument whip, if we settle desert.

Island city would be fine, but no time for now i think (see Gumbo on settling towards Isa afterwards).
Hmm that's our other option, moving London warri west and clearing that area with 2 hopefully.
    Settling towards floodplains / clams.

Well we can't use mine for more than 1 turn in York if we want 2 turn GLH.

If we want to whip London 6-3 what will it run long term? 1 mine for sure. sheep, clams and then? We are 5 turns from Pottery. So time for a mine if we wanted to cottage right now. I don't see advantage of road to fish. Whatever we do it will take 2 turns unless we road all 4 tiles to the hill? Then we still face a huge risk from 2 barb archers? Hmmmm.

Extra 2 food on sheep vs galley waiting around for 6+ turns?

Island sheep maybe but there are other islands below us. Key right now is grabbing land before the ladies take it. UNless we fancy axe rushing Justin. Seems unlikely.

Fish city would help fog bust and is somewhat protected against archers with lake and mountain.

Our warrior to east is still not 100% strength. Once that forest is chopped he is a sitting duck when not on forest. An archer could appear from fog any time. Fish city would need a chop or 2.

We could use both warriors to fog bust east? Were a few turns from size 6 settler. We really could use 1 more warrior. We need the east secured.

    Sleep well ;)
I think we can pause play for today, lots to discuss actually.
Interesting point in our game, so no hurry.
Getting late for me too already :)

Small note on warriors, we can use the one in London for either side.
Would move him out for sure, depending which settling plan we use.
Even if we go for size 6 settler, we can whip when reaching 6 and with Cha no happy problems before.

yeah, sorry about that..just a busy day at the office..ha. Yeah..tomorrow should be good and I think I can free up a bit earlier for you Euro types ;)

yeah, was not sure how soon we'd get settler outta London or if that would be for Fish city or not.

Maybe getting road to Fish city now better. mine certainly not needed with whip now. Worker can finish two tile road and then move to forest anyway afterwards or mine or whatevah

yeah..warrior can move out..just was sure if we'd hit unhappiness for a bit there

Not much time today, but i think you have our options now :)
I did not plan using our "step by step while others are online" system from sgotm for this game, nice when it works out but..

I should clarify on that a bit thou :)
I like that system when we have similar online times, i just think it's very hard to do overall with Euro & US times, and only 3 of us.

Would making a plan that we look over work for you, Lymo?
I have not much to add currently i think, but also not very focused today.

Sorry I got back from work and went straight to bed. I will have a lot of time next week. Mini plans are okay. Long as we all have similar ideas on game plans. Where for next city. How to protect our borders and worker thoughts. No need to play a perfect game. Key is to win but not too shabbily.

Ha..no probs here. Eeets all casual. I just had a window there I thought might work for ya'll on a Friday as I can sometimes pull out early, but if ya can't make it ya can't make it.

Yeah..from your last post yesterday, and I agree, there were some things to discuss, so I really did not want to move forward on my own.

Obviously, we can't all sync on times, and certainly we can play some turns solo once a plan is in place. But it's nice to have some group discussions when we can, cause honestly that's the most fun thing about these games.

Ok..off to bed. Morning and early afternoon doing stuff for the fam, so feel free to discuss and play some turns without me. And I can still check in on my iphone at times and type unreadable nonsense for ya'll to read :D

Nites ;)..which is a pointless thing to say now as hopefully ya'll are well deep into REM sleep at the moment.

Well it's close to xmas, always busy times ;)

I think it's mostly who likes Pottery next and before writing, and who likes fish city or settling towards Isa (and the clams + floodplains spot) first.

Good points can be made for both spots, but we should decide now so we can choose where our London warrior goes to help, and what north worker does.

    Well Pottery
Granary - Useful for whipping and regrowth.
Cottages - We don't have a huge number of cottageable grassland rivers.
    Discount to writing.

Writing - OB, libraries. Need to find Ai cities for trade routes??

Fish - Best food resource we have. Possible barb issues. Vision from lake.
Rice - Has forest to chop but weak food resource. We would want the 2x dye?
    Clams - unknowns with barbs.

My guess is pottery and gamble with fish. We need to be fog busting east asap. Barb archers are a pain. We should probably be rexxing fast now to grab land.

I think Pottery is fine..It will be good to start Granaries sooner than later. Only thing is Fish city won't have any culture but hopefully we'll catch a religion in there soon.

And, yes, I like Fish for next city so we get that thing going sooner than later. And, well, with the plan I think we'll have a couple of settler out in the near term any way.
