    Citizens,

It's also been a while since we've discussed our Civics. Somehow we ended up with Hereditary Rule, though I'm pretty sure there was no discussion or poll on it. The last time we actually polled our Civics was way back when we got Slavery.

The main reason I bring this up is because Caste System becomes available with Code of Laws. This civic allows us to produce more great people, but it has higher upkeep and we won't be able to use the whip. Please discuss whether or not you'd like to switch to this civic once it becomes available. (The instruction won't be ready in time for the TC tomorrow, but we can have it for the one after that)

Also, since we never polled Hereditary Rule, I'd like to make it official by discussing it and polling it as well.

    Our current available civics are:
    Government: Despotism, Hereditary Rule
    Legal: Barbarism
Labor: Tribalism, Slavery, Caste System (available soon)
    Economy: Decentralization
    Religion: Paganism

See this page for information about Civics: http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/info/civics/

Keep in mind that we won't have any anarchy because we are Spiritual.

Please post your thoughts here. I'll open the polls in about 2-3 days.

Hereditary will keep our citizens happy, so keep it.
Perhaps Caste System after we've built the Globe Theater.

Depends on how much the increase will be. If we still arent better off economy wise we might just sit on slavery till we are....

I guess we really need to wait on that part but if it doesnt cost us much more and we can benefit from it then yes. If we arent running specialists above what we can normally run then no we can wait till we get a GP farm going.

The following is a strategy exercise, not an advocacy position. ;)

As I understand it, it's possible to pop rush a wonder. We could keep slavery until the Globe is within pop rush range, then pop rush, complete it, and the  from the whip goes away magically. Don't switch to caste system until the food and pop support more than the normal number of specialists. If we don't already have a granary there, do that next.

I quite like the sound of that. I'm pretty sure it is possible to rush a wonder - at least someone in a strategy thread post claimed they had done it. I would have no problem using the whip for this.

Pop rushing a national wonder costs 1,5 more than poprushing a normal building I believe, but it's certainly possible.
