OMG, OMG, OMG,
1/24/08 was a day I'll never forget!
About 3 weeks ago (in a chat with my son) told me 4 of his freinds founded a band, he's 15 like I was when I did the same thing. I said ok cool, what do you do? "I'm lead vocals", ok do you need a mike or amp or anything? He said no I was invited in for my singing ability (word got around i guess) and that they hadd all the equipment they needed.
BTW my first gig was 1/24/08 at his High schools preformance hall in a talent show among atleast 15 other talents.
I was front row, i was there an hour early, I had no idea what his bands influences was, but to me it didn't matter he is my youngest son (like father like son,(this part at the end)),
I think my face was blue from holding my breathe while the anouncer person said his stuff. The curtain open and my son appeared w/mike in hand and said "IS EVERYBODY READY TO ROCK?" a wash came over me blue to purple maybe, the drummer tap his sticks together and they began to play, he swung he tether his mike until he sang, but unfortunately wa epically drowned out by the others amps, yet as a band they played as a band, the bands that followed were so called more talented as the evening progressed, on this note the later bands had equipment that rivaled professional bands (as expected in that neighborhood) but each band member of each group particully guitarists and bassists tried to out do each other in this "Talent Show" which really other than being setup for a much bigger venue(volume)(sound blur) the battle of the band compditors lost horribly due to tring to overshawdow each other with thier own band, And JP and his Corporate Casualties reiged far above them regardless of equipment(and unknown status)
Proud tears fell from my eyes that night and a new goal to achieve, life is amazing!!

I kind of like that.
It was someone like yourself who gave me Eclipse as a nickname more than a decade ago, if you were to "Google it" 4449 you see a decent amount of entries
so I'm happy to receive nicknames although i actual earned Eclipse threw playing online Baldur's Gate 2. I always played as a Cleric and it was said "like no other" the details that particular evening was unique. Generally 3 of us would meet upin the Lobby and load our game as we do here, we were to embarq on a quest to kill a dragon when another human wizzard(high level) asked to jion or quest, we were at that time glad to have him join but he was an Evil mage and eventually turned against us in battle. As we entered the room and intiated dialog that would begin an epic battle with this Dragon. that mage began casting a spell, for what ever reason, perception or a good guess I casted a "protection from Evil" spell which was in game time right on time, he casted an area of effect spell which would have given us no chance of defeating this quest, but i saved the day was able to take out this mage in short order. withing a few minutes an odd thing happened 2 of the 3 players wrote in the chat window the word eclipse, it was a coincodence to say the least but for somewhat epic in a gaming sence.
And before this my radio callsign(army) was Stormbrigner44 for desert storm at 4/9th so this is where the 4449 comes from, the bringer part is because I was a truck driver hauling ammo to the front lines.
Now why I even mentioned it in the first place, its funny how sometimes life goes around a 360* turn. I took Meteorology in school all those years ago in school (funny how all those things kind of relate) and just the other day I saw my old teacher and asked me if I persuide that field, well I told him no, and strange enough he asked me why because of all his students he felt I had the greatest potential of all his students. I remember liking the subject and to this day comment to others the kind of clouds that are in the sky.

Strange this post must be but "I" was bored

p.s. I'm now currently down from 23 pbem gams as aof Dec. to now under 10 so if any of you would like to play a wwI,WWII etc game(created scenario) I want you
