So I've been messing around trying to find the best distance between two cities. I hate to put them closer together because I feel like I'm wasting their ability to culture grab or purchase land hexes, but putting them farther apart adds up in costs because of roads and military units to protect the newer "frontier" cities from barbarians and.. Askia..

What are some of you guys' strategies for city placement? I'd love to know. :)

That would be nice if I could understand the way you worded things in your post. For some reason I'm having a hard time reading it. :crazyeye:

What language was that written in?

I was hoping to find some ideas about city spacing myself. I sat there one space away from a world wonder thinking how great it would be to have that as a city tile... so I built a city closer to it instead of paying the 600gp to take that tile, but I don't think that it did anything for me.

I noticed that the computer players had their cities all connected within their borders. While I had a city here... with a little circle... and a city there with a little circle. My capital city is only about twelve tiles or less... I don't see why I should pay for tiles that I can't work yet.

I'm sure time will tell about city placement and such... but I'd love to hear what other people are doing. It's so weird to see so many irons...
