City states bonuses

It seems to me that city state bonuses are now more important than ever for culture - with culture now nerfed, my tall empire of four cities doesn't usually pump out much more than maybe 40-50 culture even by Renaissance, and that's assuming I got some kind of wonder going. Whereas a single allied city state gives me 26.

I find that with BNW, because they made pretty drastic changes to the economy and what not, but leaving other kinds of numbers intact, there are some out of whack things like this one - I don't think it makes a lot of sense that a single city state should be providing more than half your culture output. In my current game I've allied myself with every single cultural CS and am getting almost 200 culture a turn, 75% of which is not produced by me. Seems a little weird.

On the other hand, the maritime city states don't give nearly as much as they used to, in relative terms. While food bonus is always nice, and empire wide food bonus when they're allied is great, I find there to be much less reason to just be friends with them (unless it was going to happen anyway). One caravan or trade ship worth of food is way more than what the CS can give. It certainly doesn't make sense to spend money on the maritime CS anymore unless you have excess cash or need to ally them for lux/vote purposes.

I think mercantile and maritimes (as is) are better for a wide empire, cultural and military better for tall.

A maritime friend can give 2 extra food... Supporting 1 extra culture specialist.... More great works and some culture from the specialist themselves.

I think Cultural is both sutied for Wide and Tall, (And I personally think it's actually Wide) because this means you make up more cultural than you lose by expanding (as you generate more culture than it costs you to expand).

Well as a tall, that culture is
1 more cost efficient for buying policies
2 a bigger % of your overall culture

It is good for both, but better for tall.

From one point culture is nerfed, o the other hand you can get a lot of free policies in late game - wonders and world projects. Also great art works also gives you a lot of culture. In the past I thought that putting 2 points in Patronage is must have for tall civ, now as I tried to play with it, I do not think so.

I think the two points in patronage is still pretty important, if nothing else as a defense against DV by an AI

not actually for BNW. There are no slots for GrArtist here.
Cultural CSs are really imba.
