City States Leaders for BNW [WIP Icon contribution hread]

@knightmare13: Any help is appreciated. The list is already there (in red, above the spreadsheet).

To others: knightmare13's avatar (the leader icon from his Philippine civ) prompted me to go seeking out him and authors of other civ mods to see if there are more icons out there that can be re-purposed. He and LastSword both responded right away.

I'm now calling it 12 to go (give or take, depending on the responses of other artists)! We can also start looking at tweaking or replacing the placeholders...

Because the artists have been so kind, I've managed to whip up these.

Spoiler :
Adapted from knightmare13's icon for his Philippine mod:
*Jose Rizal (Manila):

Insired by davey_henninger's Croatian mod:
*Tomislav (Ragusa):

And adaptations of 5 of the many icons LastSword shared with me:
*Pygmalion (Tyre):

*Mindaugas (Vilnius):

*Ahmad Abdali (Kabul alternative):

*Po Ngbe (La Venta alternative):

*Timur (Samarkand alternative):

[Thanks again, LastSword!]

this one looks better i think than the first one i post,
Spoiler :

here is Chi Minh Ho of Hanoi, sorry I just read your suggestion.
Spoiler :

@sukritact
thank you!, still yours are much better :D

Remember these end up quite a bit smaller.

I liked the background on the first Rainier. I think it's probably necessary if he's going to stand so far to the left.

(Thanks again!)

More adaptations:
Spoiler :
One more from LastSword:
What do you think, does this work for Ahiram (Byblos)? :

Adaptations from davey_henninger's icons:
*John MacDonald (Quebec City):

*Ly Thai To (Hanoi alternative):

And one I threw together:
Ranavalona (Antananarivo alternative):

I also adapted yours, knightmare13:

EDIT: Another inspired by LastSword:
Simeon I (Sofia):
[I've got to clean that one up...]

I was hoping I could find an African civ that would work for Mombasa or Mogadishu, but I don't think any of these work...
Spoiler :

:cooool: We're so close! Let's finish this thing up...

Here are some more, sorry for my absenteeism in this thread!

Redone Melbourne

Spoiler :

Redone Sofia

Spoiler :

Valletta

Spoiler :

Sydney Alternative (Henry Parkes)

Spoiler :

Thanks, TPangolin!

...but i can't find a good detailed picture of your suggestion.

You're welcome to use someone else. I didn't want a Brit, and I didn't want anyone too modern (plus the recent batch of leaders have all apparently resigned in disgrace, fairly or not). But we need a pic, so you're welcome to pick whoever you think best.

Hong Kong

Im Planning to use Sir Charles Elliot the very first Governor of Hong Kong or Sir Henry Pottinger, the second Governor. But looks like TPangolin already made one for Hong Kong :goodjob:

EDIT:
here is Janybek Khan of Almaty, i make 3 different Backgrounds, choose which one you like. Sorry if it is not that detailed :( , i paint it out of a statue.
Spoiler :

First one is the best!

What else needs doing?

just a question: will these be used in some sort of mod?
Um, yeah. City States Leaders. :)

First one is the best!
I like the first Janybek best too, but I used the 3rd; the 1st seemed unclear whether it was meant to be a yellow or red tint.

What else needs doing?
I keep the first post updated:
Note that as of this writing, there are just 7 left to do!
They are:
COLOMBO, MOGADISHU, MOMBASA, ORMUS, RIGA, WELLINGTON, and ZURICH

Adaptations from davey_henninger's icons:
*John MacDonald (Quebec City):

That's a mighty odd choice for Québec City. It represents the colonial capital of New France (ended in 1763), and you're using an Ontarian PM of Canada from the late 19th century as its leader (that's like using a US president to represent Texas, pre union).

You'd rather need someone like Frontenac or Samuel de Champlain or Jean Talon, or at least an early English governor.

Great work, though!
