civ 3 has been crashing every time I end my turn. whether I end it or it automatically ends, civ 3 crashes. heres a bug report: please help

This kind of crash has turned up before here.

The solution for that player was to disable autosaves. He had a limited amount of memory, and the autosave image was probably too much for it. However, you have 1 GByte which ought to be plenty. How far into your game are you, and how big is the map? If you are in the late game on a big map, does this crash still happen on a new game with a standard map?

Help!! It worked for about 9 turns and now it is happening again. for some reason auto save is returning on every time I turn it off. What should I do?
