I got the Civ 4 complete including BTS. I was surprised to find it did a complete install without requiring the disk. Naturally I put the game on my Desktop and laptop. Before I try working out the network issues, can anyone tell me if in order to play an opponent over a LAN you actually need the disk? It seems crazy that the game makers would allow this to be possible.....but great if it is!!!!

I have played this game over a LAN many a time and I have not used a disk at all. In the BTS 3.19 patch, it allows you to not use a disk which is nice of them. I hope you enjoy your LANS, they can be very fun
and extremely crushing at the same time 
I do have one question for the other Civ Fanatics, however.... What is the reason for the ONS errors on multiplayer games? Me and my friends experience them all the time on LAN games and it gets so irritating. Any help would be great please!
