[civ4] Rome needs to be red again in Civ IV. Purple has nothing to do with rome, and looks terrible on Praetorians. Can someone please make a graphics mod that makes Rome's team color red, and not bundle it with other stuff? I know there is one modpack that makes Rome red and gives it an SPQR flag, but I, along with others I know, didn't like the other flags that came with it.

What about the Brits, they should be red! Their special unit is called the "Red Coat" afterall...

I can see what you both mean, but I just think red is more effective for rome, especially since legionnaires had red armor in real life, and not purple. And as for Britain, when they're the default white color, the redcoats are still red.

You could do it yourself. All I believe you would need to do would be to go into the CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml and change Rome's "DefaultPlayerColour" to "PLAYERCOLOR_DARK_RED".

Presto! Redrum. I mean, Red Rome.;)

Well considering Purple is the Imperial colour of the Senate and all

Ill stick with Purple. Much more realistic

Changing civ colours is *really* easy with editing the xml. PM me if you can't work out how to do this and I'll dig out the xml line you need to edit.

Personally I changed the brits to pink. Traditionally, on atlas maps, brits are pink; hence the phrase "I remember when a third of the world was pink" :)

I tried doing it myself, but when I opened the xml file it wouldn't let me edit it. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, so could someone post how to edit it?

Open it in notepad. NOT IE or whatever program is default.
