civ 4 on 46" tv

i got a 46" screen yippie. when i try to play civ4 in fullscreen i get error "cannot meet fullscreen 1024x768. any1 any idea how to resolve. i treid playing in windowed mode but game is really laggy and crashes????? no probs before this screen. it works on my 15" but come on guys i wanna play on a 46 " screen boo

What is the TV's native resolution? Perhaps it cannot display 1024/768, because even HDTVs have only 720 lines. Try to set civ's resolution in ini file to 1280 x 720 (or whatever is your TV's max resolution).
