I trust Mr. Meier, Firaxis, 2K, and everyone else involved to create a remarkable 5th Civ experience.

What I want to see is:

1. The ability to create a map in WorldBuilder and import it into a new game, with Civ5 "reading" the terrain and placing the resources, goodies, et al, and the civilizations.

2. The ability to create a map in WorldBuilder that includes all the resources I want available in the game and import it into a new game with no new resources or goody huts added, and Civ 5 only placing the civilizations.

That's all I want.

Please. I'm begging.

Good luck to the development team, and I look forward to owning my fifth version of Civilization.

Yea being able to make maps and easily include civs from mods released is a must.

More game time when you can make your own maps and choose civs and resources..also more sharing of maps

I would def. like to see this added.

The one thing that I don't like in civ4 is not having the world builder for multi-player mode
that is to create your own maps for muti-player games. i know there is around about way to do it, but that is if playing nothing but human players does it work, you can't add AI-players that are not dumb! i play with 2-3 others and we like to play deity against 15 other civs. None of us have know how or time to learn how to create mod maps.
The ability to create maps then load them in a multi-player game with 3 human & 15 AIs with each of us able set what ever difficulty setting we choose would really be nice.

I'm a loner. I've never played multi-player. I started this thread because I love to design maps, but in Civ4 the start positions of all the civilizations must always be the same, because I had to redesign a map from turn one of a new game.

In Civ4 the resources are never diminished. With one coal resource and one iron resource I can put a railroad track onto every square (now hex) of the map. So I like to create maps in which maybe there's 6 oil resources, but they're ALL IN ONE PART OF THE MAP.

The first civilization to find them gets them ALL. Now you HAVE to deal with that civilization if you want oil. The same with all the big resources ... all the uranium resources in one section, all the aluminum in another, etc.

I'm not suggesting that resources diminish, Civ is management-intensive enough without that headache, but I do like to create maps in which the civilizations are forced to interact for specific reasons. Or there's a chance that I don't get to the big resources, and now I have to implement a stronger military or diplomatic strategy where I might have just wanted to try and "develop" in peace in some corner of the map. Imagine all the uranium on a small 3-tile island hidden behind other 3-tile mountain filled islands.

Also ... again, I love to design maps ... I like to create maybe a dozen goody huts around a ruined city ... some with roads that go out dozens and dozens of squares that a scout might suddenly come upon out of the fog of darkness ... roads that all lead to "Rome" as it were, abandoned and forgotten, but now surrounded by goody huts that give all kinds of bonuses for being the first to find this lost city.

The no worldbuilder in multiplayer was put in because it caused OOS errors. The civ4 team probably could have made a version that didn't involve OOSing but that may have required a redo of the entire multiplayer system.
