Civ 5 Stopped Working with DirectX10/11

Civ 5 will load and run fine with DirectX9 (Runs kinda slow tho even with all graphics set on low) and when I try and run it using DirectX10/11 (recommended) a window immediately pops up sayin the program stopped working and was closed how do I fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game (Retail Disc) and just DirectX and I have made sure the DirectX drivers are updated also windows is up to date as are the drivers at least it says they are I also tried skippin the into scene and no luck.
