Forbidden City (29) - Available relatively early (especially for domination since you're likely rushing the bottom of the tech tree), doesn't cost too much production, fairly easy placement requirements, gives you extra flexibility for the whole game, and not terribly difficult to get over the AI. A top-tier wonder for every victory type.

Chichen Itza (4) - I've never played with Brazil so there may be some utility there, but otherwise having a bunch of rainforest lying around is more trouble than it's worth.

Casa de Contratación: This wonder is specifically designed to help you hold down the fort on other continents, something that you are forced to do in Domination, and it's only higher than Maracanã because I've upvoted it four times.

Panama Canal: I've defended it in the past, but only because it was about to leave before wonders like Broadway. It's time for the Buildable Cliffs of Dover to exit the building.

Binging back Sankore to start position. faith + science, worse wonders are above 20

    Hagia Sophia -3
    What is this doing here?
This is worse than Mahabodji and that is gone. +4 is weak, additional spread is not enough when conquering

Forbidden City (30) (29 + 1) I'm somewhat satisfied with where Alhambra is currently, so I'll give a vote for Forbidden City here. A purple slot is strictly better than a red slot and can fit a military policy, so the FC does contribute well towards domination.

Chichen Itza (1) (4 - 3) I think only Brazil would ever want to actually build the Chichen Itza, for any particular objective. Chopping helps a lot with accelerating city development, and building over rainforest w/out chopping it is a big waste and works against CI as well. In general, it's hard to imagine when the CI would ever be desirable.

Idle side commentary, but to me it seems pretty clear that there are very few wonders that are directly meaningful towards domination. It was nice to see the Statue of Zeus again, and I'm hoping that the Brandenburg Gate or the Pentagon come back in a future update, assuming they continue their domination focus. More new wonders that are beneficial towards domination (especially those that grant Great General points or Great Admiral points) would be nice to see.

Hagia Sophia: Still solidly stronger than many on here. Looking at you, Colossus. Seriously, that thing is like building one Trade Route, and it's considered comparable to a wonder that replicates a high-tier religious belief?

Chichen Itza: Itza in a better place now.

Petra (19) - In most domination games, you're likely to settle at least one desert city for resources (iron, coal, especially oil). You might as well make that city worthwhile once you settle it (and odds are pretty high this will still be available).

Hagia Sophia (5) - This may replicate a high-tier religious belief, but it's a high-tier belief for a religious game. The extra spreads bring marginal benefit for domination. If I have a coastal city with passable production, I'd probably rather have the Colossus and its single trade route.

    KOTOKU-IN -3
The moment it is unlocked and built (720 hammers!) warrior monks are useless, as they are basically weker than swordsmen and require 3 promotions to have any use. For 720 hammers you can have 8 swordsmen. Any use of warrior monks I can think of is Zulu and only if obtained earlier by religion.
+20% faith is like Oxford and Broadway. Looks impressive, gives little. Maybe as Ethiopia it will give reasonable faith, but do you want to sacrifice traders from better location just to utilise it?

    COLOSSEUM +1
    I didn't upvote it yet?
Yes, a little investment, but significantly speeds up reaching corps and tier2 goverment for faithbuying units (and you get +4 theatre spot as well). And ammenities

Potala Palace (22+1): Yes, Diplomatic policy cards are relatively weak compared to others. That doesn't mean all of them are weak, though. Potala becomes available around the time you unlock Raj, Machiavellianism, and Merchant Confederation, all of which are quite good. I almost always want the latter two slotted in, but all Tier 2 governments have only a single Diplo slot. That is, until I build Potala Palace.

Petra (19-3): I agree that Chichen Itza isn't a great wonder. I fail to understand the huge gap between Chichen Itza and Petra. Here's the thing about jungle tiles: you actually want to settle them because they give you chops. It's not out of the question that you'll have an extra jungle-settled city and decide to build Chichen because you can't be bothered to shuffle Magnus around. Obviously that's not a ringing endorsement but, hey, there's a reason it was eliminated. Petra, on the other hand, is a meme. You have to construct the Settler, plop it in the second-worst terrain, reroute your traderoutes to support a cruddy city so that ~30 turns later you get...2F1P2G flatland in a single city. Okay? Compare that ROI to settling an actually decent city that can setup its infrastructure ASAP. Petra isn't awful: it can yield respectable gold generation, but the babysitting necessary to get there is a drain on the rest of your empire in the meantime. Chichen Itza, at least, is self-sufficient.

EDIT: Looks like Alhambra was cut off a few posts ago.

Machu Picchu: A great way to guarantee high adjacency bonuses on Commercial Hubs and Industrial Zones, although it may be difficult to decide whether to prioritize them over Campuses.

Estádio do Maracanã: We voted out the Amundsen-Scott Research Station a pretty long time ago for arriving at Rapid Deployment, which is a lot too late to be useful. Professional Sports is concurrent with Rapid Deployment. While I do consider the Maracanã's bonus a lot more relevant than that of Amundsen-Scott, it still arrives too late to be useful a lot of the time.

    Happy New Year folks :)

Alhambra (32) (31 + 1) Red slot, amenities and GG points in one package that's available early on and not too costly.

Hagia Sophia (2) (5 - 3) Getting an extra charge on Missionaries and Apostles isn't particularly useful for domination.

Casa de Contratación (28) The governador titles are more useful now after the last update. The extra production and gold are handy to built up the infrastructure in some conquered cities. You usually need at least a few governors to deal with loyalty problems.

Apadana (21) You need to build several wonders to get a huge amount of use out of this, and in the early game, it's more worth your while to build other things than to get a few extra envoys.

It occurs to me that, this thread being focused on domination victory, another criterion we could use for evaluation is constructing vs. conquering wonders. Are the wonder's effects passive or at-time-of-construction? How reliable is the AI at constructing it for you to conquer? Would you divert your army to take that has the wonder? With that in mind...

Pyramids (26+1): I haven't been able to build this myself since the December patch, but I have made war for the sole purpose of yoinking it from my neighbor.

Petra (16-3): I've already made the argument for why you shouldn't build this. On the flip-side, the AI is notorious for building single-tile Petras.

    Happy New Years, civfans!

Mausoleum at Halicarnassus: Great Engineers are a pretty nice Great Person type to have. They're the second-most common to give Amenities, and with the extra charge, you can instantly build some of the stronger wonders that remain here with Imhotep, Isidore, Brunelleschi, Shah Jahan, and Eiffel. The coastal yields are a supplementary bonus, but not a bad one to have at all, especially if you're playing as, say, Indonesia or Norway and you like working Coast tiles anyway.

Great Lighthouse: You'll survive your navy arriving one turn late.

Panama Canal (3) It's rare to have a map where this wonder is useful. Most times a well placed city and a canal will do the job anyway. Even if the city production is bad, you can use military engineers to speed it up.

Statue of Zeus (27) The cost of the wonder is more or less the cost of the units. It makes anti-cavalry units cheaper too. This is useful specially with pike&shot. I usually have a problem getting enough niter and being able to build cheap pike&shot is really useful. I find specially useful with Babylon and Macedon. The units from Babylon gets expensive fast and Macedon can get more science from production.
