Civ 7 in VR!

Okay, that'll be interesting to see, how that plays and if it'll be more immersive.
I would say it's more immersive, considering it's VR. :mischief:
Not sure if it's historically more immersive.

I'm actually interested in this. It could be the killer app for VR for me.

An average Civ game is already quite long, can't imagine playing standing up for a whole game
I doubt you have to. It's VR. The virtual table height is probably determined by a calibration point relative to the VR set when you boot up the app.

And there were people complaining about "consolification" of the game. Well joke's on you, it was "VRification" instead. The plot twist! /jk

To be fair, Ages were designed explicitly to break the game into manageable chunks, so I’d doubt that most players (VR or not) would crank a game out in a single sitting (or standing, as it were :p)

I’m a bit disappointed since I suspect this precludes them from releasing a PCVR version anytime soon…

If the video is accurate it finally gives a way for the leaders to face you :)
Ah yes, If you actually thought you can express not being interested in trade agreement with England by running away. Well Lizzie will find you wherever you go now.

I purchased an Oculus Rift back when it was released and then bought a wargame that had that table top perspective. I remember thinking how epic this would be if it were a game of Civ. Too bad VR gives me motion sickness :vomit:

This is very interesting. I bought civ6 on pc and console because i like to play on both. (Even though i hated that most of the games lifetime there was a huge discrepancy between console and pc features)
I love vr gaming but civ? The UI needs to be superb for that to work, current launch does not give confidence for that. But they do have a separate team experienced in VR handling the port. I dont know maybe I'll end up buying the game 3 times...

It could be that some of the current UI issues stem from the fact that they already tried to make the UI VR ready. Some of what is currently bad might work fine in VR.
Small chance, and I'm only guessing.

I'd be curious to try in Mixed Reality as shown in the video. But I'd prefer if the PC version could also provide a VR mode: better graphics, and mods.
