Hello,

2 Days ago I played Civ 7, no problem.

Yesterday I started Civ 7 and just before the first screen with text from Civ 7 comes, the screen closes.

I found many people that weren't able to get Civ 7 runnning, however they weren't able to play the game at all.
So their problem is different from mine.

I started Civ 7 from the link on my computer, but also through steam (using DX12 and Vulkan). In steam I checked the integrity of the game files (no problem).

I rebooted the computer, I turned it off an on. I make sure I do not start any other program and I wait until the final driver for Windows is loaded.

Nothing I do seems to help.

I have a Windows 11 PC with an AMD CPU and an AMD graphics card. I installed the latest update of the game and I installed the free black-beard scenario/DLL.

But that all worked, I must have restarted my game at least a few times with these latest updates.

I hope someones is able to tell me what to do.

To be exact as to what happens in which sequence:

- I start the game
- After a few seconds the screen turns black
- A few seconds late a blue loading circle starts turning
- A few seconds late the screen closes and I am back in Windows
- Normally I should now see a screen with music where I can select to load a game or start a new game, but this screen will not open.

Kind regards,

Clemens Linders

Unfortunately no response.

I removed the game through Steam and reinstalled the game.

The result is still the same.

At the moment the game should start, I come back to the steam screen.

I hope somebody will be able to help me.

I removed the game and reinstalled it, this did not help.
I removed the game and I removed the gamedata folder (which was not removed): %localappdata%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII
After reinstalling the game, the problem remained.

Many other problems that people have is that they get in to the menu and cannot get any further, but I don't even get in the menu.

I'm just responding to let you know that people are reading. I just don't know what to tell you. You've already tried everything I would do. Backup and wipe the drive is the only other thing I could think. Are other games working? What graphics card are you using?
